The magically altered flu bug, with its hitchhiking transformation spell, had spread fairly far by the time any of the victims found themselves no longer human.

Of course, the first transformations occured in the place that the disease had somewhat originated from, Nerima.

Among the more amusing of reactions to this change in events involved the awakening of one...

...Akane, the Patient Zero...
...Ranma...though perhaps whoever threw the water on him has the bigger shock...
...Ukyou...
...Shampoo (who is one of the few non-Japanese unlucky enough to catch it)
...Kodachi...
