"Were not in Kansas anymore, Toto," Brigadier-General Kowen said out loud and got quite a few of the crew in Command looked at him.
Ironically enough the mascot of the ship, a small black Cairn Terrier, was named Toto and barked once and wagged his tail as he heard his name.
Kowen continued to look at the star ship that was stationary maybe 1000 kilometers distant to Liberty Station. Green Squadron and Retailer Zero One were still flying circles around it. The ships shape, the designation, the paint job and the view of Earth they have gotten, even the radio emissions coming from the planet could lead to this one conclusion.
They weren't in their own universe anymore. The news channels they got from this Earth, most important CNN, showed that Earth had the 22nd July 2004. There were no indication of any sort of reconstruction from a Global Civil War. Nothing about Macross island. But the people of Earth seemed to have seen them appear if the news on CNN, NBC and BBC were any indication. Some of the pictures takes from Liberty Station had a very high resolution and came from something called VLT in Chile. He had even seen a few high-res pictures of the Prometheus on NBC, and if the coverage was any indication, noon on Earth knew that that ship had existed.
Other news channels started to take guesses. Some said that some big guy in the industry seemed to have said the truth about some sort of Alien body, others started to speculate about US government cover ups around a place called Area 51, while even more others told that US Space Command never needed that much funds anyway and seemed to have poured all that money into the Prometheus. Someone even said that he had seen the Nimitz Carrier Group sinking and that it wasn't something the Navy called a 'meteor storm' but some sort of pyramid shaped space ship.
It was strange how fast people started to make assumptions. He couldn't know that many of the carefully fabricated lies and misdirections made by Space Command, the Pentagon and the President were falling apart bit by bit and that the people on Earth would learn the truth in the near future.
Kowen breathed in deep. Knowing human reactions he could see that someone would start to sweat and maybe even start to launch a few nukes at the Prometheus and/or Liberty.
"Prepare the Roosevelt, Turgon, Tsunami and the Arnhem for departure. We may need them in the near future."
He didn't know how right he was.

1.40 pm GMT, Monday, July 22, 2004 AD. - Prometheus, L5 Lagrage Point, Earth Moon gravitational System
Jack sat in the 'Big Chair' and sweated. From the looks onto the news channels they could get from Earth and the info from Stargate Command, everything was falling apart on Earth. Okay, in some ways it was good that SGC was getting out into the open, but now everyone would become more and more paranoid.
He looked out of the windows of the bridge and as one of those fighters streaked by. They clearly weren't Death Gliders or any other Gua'uld design. They were looking quite terrestrial, a bit like a mix of a Blackbird and a Tomcat. Even the markings looked like they were from Earth, through the triangular shape in the red circle looked quite like the symbol from Star Trek. There were six of those fighters and one aircraft that looked like you took the next step from a Hawkeye. A two part cockpit, forward swept wings, much like X-29 and a very large Radar Rotodom on top.
"Sir, we have four contacts breaking away from the large object."
The radar operator swallowed.
"They are big..."
Jack closed his eyes for a moment and breathed in deep.
"Try to get them on the phone," he said," I think we should say 'Hi.'"
