Asuka was caught up in the wonder of the moment for all of five minutes.
Then she got bored and remembered what she was supposed to do. She turned to face Japan and concentrated closely. Maya's cloud should be right... there.
With a silent shout into outerspace, she rocketed back into the upper atmosphere.

"Commander! The Second Child is headed towards NERV!" a technician shouted.
"He's not here. Bring me up to date on the situation," Misato said in a commanding voice. She shared a quick glance at her friend Ritsuko.
"The Second Child has started to exhibit unknown powers. She is currently inbound at incredible speeds!"

Maya fluttered towards the 'gate' of her cloud castle. "Poor Asuka, I will have to try and help her," the part-fairy muttered to herself.
BOOOOOOM!
"Hey! Maya! You in there!" Asuka shouted boisterously.
"My castle!" the fairy shouted.
The cause was quite obvious. Maya had reinforced the castle to withstand normal winds, but not the super-normal abilities of the reckless Second Child.
"Oops. Sorry about that," Asuka said in a tone that said she was not even remotely sorry. "So you turned into your character too. Cool!"
"ASUKA!" the Fairy shouted.
"Hey, you don't look so hot, Maya."
Without any more warning, Maya raised up her hand and lightning shot from the tattered clouds, striking the EVA pilot savagely. "That will teach you to destroy my home!" Maya said firmly.
