Stepping up onto the machine, he stood there and wondered what would happen. It wasn't like they let people go through this repeatedly, so he wasn't quite sure what it would be like. But he held onto the knowledge that plenty of people did it and nothing ever happened to them.
However, as the platform glowed, he found himself wondering about the safety of what he was doing, and could have sworn that a white-yellow cylinder of light went up around him. The odd tingling sensation was certainly no hallucination, and he knew that it was definately doing something else. It felt like some sort of... breeze was going over him.
The proccess seemed to stop almost as easily as it started though, and he blinked a few times before he realised that he was supposed to leave. He walked out through the exit, and waited outside as he was supposed to. Then he stood in a daze, knowing that there was no turning back. With the scanning over with, he had no choice but to go on with what happened next. After all, it wasn't like he'd get a 'do over' in this.
He was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't react to the Professor's presence until he felt a tap on his shoulder. "Wha..? Oh, hi..."
"Imagining what your future will be like, were you?" the elder man asked.
"Well... yeah..."
"Then wait no more. Your pokegirl is right here."
"She is?"
"Yes, she is."
"Oh?"
"Yes, your pokegirl is waiting for you," Oak told him, "Which means that you will be now responsible for:
