That was part of Ash's charm though. He was never really judgemental in much, always active, and constantly out to prove that he could live out his dreams. Just being around him seemed to bring up some energy out in others, and he had a generous heart that could touch many a person or pokegirl.
And it seemed that he was going to use his drive to work with the Explorer Corps. Of course, Ash had talked about seeing the world for years, and this was a perfect way to do so. He'd get to go out and see what he could find in the world around them. Fortunately he had an open mind, and will to spare, so he should have no trouble with the actual travel and meeting the people out in the various lands before he went out into the uncharted territories.
The Professor just wished that he'd taken some time to analyze his options before making a decision. But rushing into a choice was pure Ash, and he knew that in the end, it was his choice.
That meant that Ash and Misty would be searching out the world around them all too soon.
For Ash, the decision had been simple. Ever since he'd been a little boy, he'd wanted to see the world beyond his little town. He'd wanted to see all its mysteries, its cultures, and its beauty. Over the years he'd lain in bed and imagined what it would be like to be standing on a cliff overlooking a valley with his fire-type pokegirl, or on a ship with a water-type. To be a member of the Explorer Corps was something he'd long wanted, and the chance to join up with them was to be snatched up.
To the part of him that was Ranma, it was a golden opportunity. He could get out and actually retrain in the Art. The best way that he knew to do that was to go on a training journey, which would be much easier as a member of the Explorer Corps.
So, happy that he'd been able to find a job that was so suitable to his needs, Ash sat there with a smile while:
