Setsuna had found it heartening that such a quest was going on. She drew connections between the search for a certain crystal by Senshi and this mission. As such, it allowed her to hope that this would be going to be salvagable. That wasn't to say that there was any sort of real parallels, but at the moment she was grasping at straws, and anything that she could jam into the context that she wanted was acceptable.
After all, events were not being nice to her at all, and she desperately wanted something to go her way.
Unfortunately... the universe decided to be a bit of a meanie again.
As she followed the theif's tracks, she noted that something rather not good had happened. Apparently, the orb had been stolen for a purpose that was definately going to be problematic. Instead of a mere theft, the subject of the quest had been taken for a purpose.
There was an object of great age, and power, that was sitting unused, and incapable of much else. It had needed a power source, but only something of great mystical energy would do. One would have to find such an item in order to activate it. And the orb fit the requirements quite well.
So it had been put into the artifact, and had brought the Ancient Artifact to life. The theft had been successful, and now the aged artifact's abilities were available to the one who had activated it.
Not that any of it would help Usagi, and it wasn't helping Setsuna's headache. She'd known the possible uses, and had been aware that evil forces could have taken the item to give themselves some sort of power advantages. Others had done that back when there had been Senshi, and the idea that they would do it now was clearly another parallel to that 'previous' timeline.
But the fact was that it was one correlation that she could have done without.
'Why me?' Setsuna thought to herself while:
