Reincarnation : Studies [Episode 125246]

KNOCK, KNOCK

“Just a moment,” spoke a voice.

Ranma waited outside Ms. Hinako’s house for their study session. The Tendos and his father quit fighting with him about it after his mother made a large bet with Nabiki that his grades would improve greatly due to the extra studying. His father put up a fight, but caved at his mother’s tears, along with a lamp, some pots and pans, and a vase. His mother was right; his grades were improving due to him associating everything to martial arts, at first. He was breaking away from that habit and beginning to understand things without relating them to martial arts.

“Come on in, Ranma.”

“Hey, got somethin’ ta’ eat, Ms. Hinako?”

“Ranma! I thought we discussed your language already,” Ms. Hinako exclaimed. Annoyance was plainly seen upon Ranma’s face as he began to mumble about people complaining about his language and strangers that knew things they shouldn’t.

Hinako was currently in adult form, due to the fighting fish she held in a small circular glass fish bowl. For Ranma, the study session went the same as usual: ask for food, clean room while waiting on food, study with Hinako until she starts getting distracted, take away fish and put on anime designed for little kids, work alone until she came back and tried to help, give back fish and get back to work.

“Ranma, I have to say how impressed I am with your improvement, especially in the areas of Physics and Biology.” She was truly astounded by the way Ranma seemed to understand so much. She was only teaching him the most basic things and he would connect dots of information together using things she never taught him. When she first began teaching him physics she told him that everything that was made of matter had energy. After his question about nonliving objects having matter was answered in a positive, he asked about energy loss, and before she even answered he answered his question, which somehow led to him realizing that producing a visible battle aura was a waste of energy since it was heat and light that bled off from energy reservoirs. Talking to Ranma about the body’s cell went completely beyond her understanding; he was somehow speaking of ways to force cells into more efficient actions and completely stopped listening after he began mumbling about nano-somethings. Every time she talked to Ranma, something changed. Sometimes he remembered what he was talking about and able to hold deep scientific discussions and other times it was like he knew nothing of what he talked about and had to be re-taught.

“Ms. Hinako, do you dye your hair?”
