Setsuna's New Life-Millenium: Mysteries Of Mentality [Episode 130631]

by Kender

In Kuno's lifetime, he had never found a person of substance whom had ever done anything in the wrong. The heavens would not smile on any who might have evil in their hearts, and when in a position of prosperity, one could understand the responsibilities placed on such a person. In addition, there was little need to use underhanded means to gain anything, including the affections and service of a girl, as all women looked to such a man as the pinnacle of attractiveness.

And the Saotome clan was of special note, as they had not only a great amount of wealth, but their persocom lines. Even he had made use of their product, and he had several basic units acting as servants in his own home. Surely anyone who created such dutiful and proper machines would realise that they should not take what was rightly his.

No, it had the stench of foul magicks, for nothing else could made such a raidiant and loving goddess become a mere worker. Her hands were not meant for cleaning the messes of others, but they had been directed into that line, obviously by outside forces, since she would never have herself in any position save by his side. There was only one person who could have the ability to do such a thing.

He had thought that Gosunkugi had learned his lesson the previous month. After all, his 'Plague of Frogs' had not worked, which even he knew was supposed to be something from God. But a diety would never harm Kuno, and the magicks failed, with the only part of it that worked being the rain of amphibians.

It was obvious that the sorcerer had not given up, which meant that only one thing could be done. "Nabiki Tendo? I will need to take my leave of you."

"Why is that?" Nabiki asked dubiously.

"It is because I must act quickly, before that foul sorcerer Gosunkugi acts again on his latest spree."

"When did he acted the first time?"

"You know as well as I do when the first time was."

"What... Oh... The frog thing."

"Exactly."

'I wonder if I should tell him that voodoo boy was trying to drop frogs on him so that he'd turn into a frog, like in a fairy tale,' Nabiki thought to herself, and then gave a mental headshake. The kendoist wouldn't believe her, Gosunkugi's 'spells' never worked much, and they were still finding frogs hiding in the Girls' locker room. "So you want to stop the second?"

"The third major one, actually. His second spell must have been aimed at making my dear and beloved Akane into his servant, but his failure has been repeated, and this time his mistake has granted this Saotome boy a great boon. It will be a hard thing to remove her from his service, but I must, once I defeat the sorcerer once again."

"Is that right?"

"It is, and I would think that you are wise enough to know that. But then, I'm sure that you must be simply asking for a reminder, as even you can understand the justice in my actions. And I am sure that they will stay with you as I go. I will see you later, Nabiki Tendo," Kuno pronounced.

"Ummm... Kuno?"

"Yes?"

"Pay for the pictures first."

"Why should I..."

"No yen, no pictures. Remember?"

"I... okay..," the wannabe samurai growled as he dumped some money in front of her, and took a sniff. "Are you happy now?"

"Ecstatic."

"Good. Then I will take my leave."

"Bye," the middle Tendo daughter commented as she let her 'customer' go, and sighed. She had known that he wouldn't take any truths from her or anyone else, and so she saw little reason to try. He always found a way to see things in the way that he wanted them to be. So mentioning the fact that most girls would have prefered serving this Saotome guy rather than the bag of hot hair that she'd just been talking to would have been worse than useless.

However, he was dependable for a quick buck, and she started counting her profit while:
