The old captain shook his head, his silver bread trimmed as he turned to face the party that had come aboard. At 6’8 he stood well over anyone who manned his vessel, his uniform a nice white with gold trimmings, the emblem of Uranus stitched on his upper right chest.. “And I see your tongue is as silver coated as ever Sain. Mind I plan to break our little tie at our next match.”
Sain chuckled as Nino ran over to look outside the windows of the bridge. “Of course, would you have me any other way good sir?” By this time Lord Roy had found a rather attractive bridge bunny and had approached her for a conversation.
“Considering your tendencies to flirt, showboat and charge headfirst to where angels would dare not tread? Course not!”
The two men laughed together as they took each other’s hand in greeting. “I do hope Kent hasn’t stepped on your toes too much.” Kent from his position levelled a flat stare at the sailor.
Sain shrugged as Nino pressed her face to the windows, watching the workers as they finished preparations to launch from Luna City’s spaceport. “No more than he usually does.”
“If I may interrupt this greeting... we are on a mission, not a social gathering.”
Donovan turned to the woman, Lady Koto, and grinned. “We’ve got another ten minutes until we depart and another four hours under conventional engines until we reach Earth.”
“Four hours? Captain I was under the impression the Solar Ring could do much better.”
The Solar Ring was the largest and most armed and equipped ship in the Moon Kingdom’s fleet, it’s main body resembled that of a sea craft hull with smaller hull flipped over and stuck on top of it, two large engines in the back and an outer ring circling at the back of the ship connected by four ‘pillars’ that extended from the main body. It was easily five times as large as an Aircraft Carrier on Earth and with powerful cannons of varying power and sizes as well as two wings of Aerospace Fighters allowed the ship to double as a battleship and carrier. It’s sensors were state of the art, a magic engine core giving it more power than it ever needed, an illusion generator, the best Electronic Counter Measures and Electronic Counter Counter Measures and a crew of five hundred and thirty five.
“Watch yer tongue lass, this is the finest ship we got in the fleet! But we don’t know what them Earth boys got down there aside from their little news casts that their satellites use. To be safe in case they have better tech than we were led to believe we’re going in slow with ECMs on full, ECCMs on full, illusions on full and sensors on full. We’re gonna go nice and slow just to make sure we don’t get any attention we don’t need.” By this point Nino had bounced over to the other side of the room, pressing her face against the window on that side.
“How are we going to locate our King?” The crimson armour Kent asked, making himself heard for the first time since he came aboard. “The sooner we know where he is the sooner we can retrive him and depart.”
“Simple, we ask Tomos over there.” Donovan pointed a thumb over to a man in a white lab coat seated at a council of some kind. His hands worked on the keyboards as Donovan, Kent, Sain and Koto wandered over. Roy noticed his comrades moving to the council and excused himself to go join them, Nino darting over soon after that.
Tomos stood 5’7 and with his white lab coat, spiked blonde hair and hazel eyes was a near dead ringer of Greg Sanders of CSI fame. Donovan looked over his shoulder to see what he was doing. “How goes the search Tommy?”
‘Tommy’ turned in his seat, a playful smile on his face. “Well I originally wanted to use our DNA Scanner to scan the Earth for him, The King. As you know reincarnation isn’t just the soul moving to a new body, the mind makes the trip, although memories are rarely fully intact and it may never go beyond the farthest reaches of someone’s subconscious, and the DNA somehow makes it too. Some DNA samples have been preserved, and for ten thousand year old DNA it’s pretty good. We can make a positive match once we find him. But scanning the Earth for him is a no go.”
“Wait...” Nino looked over him, her head tilted slightly. “Those things can find lost people anywhere, we can find him with it, right?”
“True, that’s what it was made for. But mainly for people who got lost in isolated areas, or in certain areas of a city or town. Scanning a whole planet is impractical. First it takes a full minute to scan each person on the planet. However there are over six billion people on Earth. Even if they all held still it would take nearly two hundred years to scan the whole planet! And since they’re all moving around the same person might get scanned a hundred times.”
“Oh...”
“The only clue King Tenma left was he’d be reborn on the land where the sun rises. A little research and voila! Japan is an island nation often called the land of the rising sun!”
“Well that’s great! We just have one county to scan then!” Sain said idly waving at a passing female sailor.
“Not quite. Tokyo itself has a very dense population, and had more people on it than New Hallmark City!”
That gave everyone pause. Located outside the ruins of Old Hallmark City on Mercury, New Hallmark City was the largest, most populated city in the Kingdom, over five million people called it home.
“Scanning Tokyo would take over two months! Throw in all the other cities and we might spend over two years scanning assuming everyone sits still during that time!”
“So how else can we find him?” Kent asked.
“I’m working on it. I made a few pictures of King Tenma based on the portraits across the Kingdom. A little hacking into the databases of the Japanese government and I can have the old computer run comparisons of the folks of Japan to our portraits. It’ll scan them all by the time we hit the planet. If it gets a hit or two we’ll be able to figure out the general area of where he should be. If not then we’re back to square one.”
A woman approached them wearing a uniform much like Donovan’s, only with a short skirt instead of pants and the emblem of Neptune on her chest instead of Uranus’. “Captain, preparations are complete, we may depart upon your command.”
Donovan nodded as Sain turned to her, a smile on his face as he looked over the 5’4 beauty with the blue hair. “And what have we here, I don’t recall this lovely lady being here last I visited.”
Donovan shook his head; trust Sain to notice his new crewmate. “This is Lieutenant Commander Talas Vandre, she was just assigned here a month ago. She’s the third in command of this ship.”
Sain smiled and took Talas’ hand, quickly bringing it to his lips before she could protest, kissing the back of her hand softly. “Then it is a name I will take great efforts in remembering.” Kent just shook his head at his comrade as Roy watched on, a slight grin on his face. Talas herself blushed a deep crimson.
“Umm, it’s a pleasure... sir... Captain, shall we depart to Earth?” She asked, her foot rubbing into the floor slightly.
“Aye, let’s get going.”
Talas nodded and quickly moved over to where the helmsmen sat. Donovan turned to Sain with a grin. “So, think ye can keep this one?”
“As I said before Donovan old chum, if I seek tirelessly for the one woman that I cannot live without I shall find her eventually.”
The old captain merely shook his head.
He liked having Sain on board, something always happened.
Sailor Pluto finished her soda and tossed it to the pile of cups, bags, buckets, candy wrappers and the like that had built up nearby. She had sat through a near two-day marathon of watching the revived Moon Kingdom. It took only a moment to find and see past the illusions. She watched and got as much of the tale as she could. By the time she was done she came to one conclusion.
“Wow, Tenma must have been one HECK of a guy! Sounds like a powerful warrior too!”
It should be noted that it was Ten Thousand years since the fall of the Old Kingdom and the construction of the New Moon Kingdom.
Ten. Thousand. Years.
She could have looked back at the New Kingdom from start to finish but to do that once would take ten thousand years of her time. Then she would need to do that once for each planet, and maybe a few hundred years studying this event and that. But that would have taken far too long. Besides, what she did know was the New Moon Kingdom although changed and evolved over ten thousand years in both magical, technological and social stand points was mostly the same, a place of prosperity and peace, if you ignored the occasional passing monster hordes.
Of course now the question was whether or not to tell Usagi.
Then again Chibi-Usa might do that. After all, Chibi-Usa’s birth had more to do with Mamoru and Usagi having a lemony encounter than Crystal Tokyo. Of course since there was no more Crystal Tokyo that meant Chibi-Usa would be much... different.
She couldn’t wait in all honesty.
Mariah fixed her hair as she looked into the mirror, her dress hugging her every curve tightly. She needed to make a good impression when the King returned after all, so she needed to perfect her look. And besides, she’d have ‘company’ very soon.
Mariah was a lesbian and was more than willing to let people know. She noticed guys, but never in a very sexual manner. She had an off thought of a boy here, a fantasy there and that was it. Her father had tried to find her a guy several times, even giving them near free reign in what they did with her, doing everything except say ‘please have sex with my daughter so she can stop being a lesbian’. Unfortunately for him, none of them kept her interest. The rest of her fantasies involved girls. Sometimes one, sometimes more, but usually her sexual thoughts were always about girls. And there was one girl she was very ‘close’ with.
The knock on her door made her grin a bit. “Come in.” The pink haired princess turned to the door as Miranda walked in, closing the door behind her as she entered the Moon girl’s room, decorated with closed pink curtains, pink bed sheets, pink doll collection, an empty pink hot tub with pink tiles surrounding it (Yes there was a pink hot tub in her room and not the adjoining bathroom. Don’t ask why it’s there, it just is), a pink ceiling fan... there was a lot of pink.
Currently Miranda was the only thing in the room not pink, she opted to wear her usual deep blue trousers and loose grey t-shirt, simple slippers and leather belt. Mariah wondered if she was wearing a bra at the moment. No question about panties though, Miranda just didn’t wear them. Of course as the daughter of Uranus’ Chancellor she had access to all the fashions of the Kingdom.
She merely chose not to wear them.
“Hey Mariah, looking good girl!”
The Moon girl placed her arms behind her as she gazed up at the taller blonde girl who stood three inches taller than her. “Thank you! Like my dress?”
“It looks good on you girl. But I think it would look better off you.”
