Thunder Ken: Disclosure [Episode 133813]

by Kestral

"Ranma? You wanted to tell me something about this latest training trip?" asked the doctor, noting immediately that Ranma had that stubborn expression and that Ami looked ready to hide or flee.

"Yes, mother," said Ranma. "I discovered what Ami was doing those nights when she was 'tutoring' her friends."

Okay, that explained Ami's presence. Doctor Mizuno glanced at her nervous daughter and then back to where Ranma was standing. "Aren't you going to sit down?"

"It's better that I stand for this," said Ranma. "First I'll show you my new 'special technique' - then I'll tell you why I had to acquire it."

The doctor put aside her weariness in order to focus on her 'adopted' child more. She remembered the origins of the Child Who Wasn't, but had never had an explanation for the bizarre circumstances. Some of Ranma's martial arts manuevers over the years had seemed to defy explanation and fit more into Chinese 'wire-fu' categories of surrealism than anything she'd expect from real martial artists, but she'd seen him proudly show them off before. "Okay."

Ranma moved till he was standing a few feet away and looked around to make sure no one was too close. He held up the wooden stick briefly then brought it down again on the floor.

Thwap. K-BOOM!

Doctor Mizuno blinked as the little spots faded from her vision and her ears slowly recovered from the ringing. When she could see again, there was no sign of Ranma. Where he had stood was a tall muscular redheaded man, looking somewhat barbaric in armor and fur, holding a simply enormous hammer.

The pediatrician looked around again, there was Ami, rubbing her eyes still and looking like she wanted nothing more than to flee the room. Her eyes tracked back to the giant gaijin regarding her with blue eyes.

Wait. Blue eyes?

"Ranma?" asked the Doctor.

The big fellow nodded. "Verily. Tis I, though in this form I do wieldeth the power of, and bear the name, 'Thor'."

"As in the Norse god of thunder," said Doctor Mizuno slowly, her eyes drawn to the hammer. "That would be Mjolnir then."

"Tis as you say," agreed Thor.

Pursing her lips, the Doctor considered this then turned her attention to the untransformed daughter. "Ami? Do you transform too?"

Ami went to deer-in-headlights mode.

"Ran... Thor? You were going to explain?" asked the Doctor. "Though could you transform back? I'll get a crick in my neck talking to you like this."

A smile played on the Norseman's face. "True. This form doth hath its uses yet hath its disadvantages here in Japan."

Thwap. K-BOOM!

Doctor Mizuno closed her eyes and covered her ears as soon as she saw the hammer begin its downward motion. Well, as the hammer/staff was apparently necessary for the transformation, she could confiscate it whenever she needed to ground him.
