There was only one reason why he was sitting on a rock looking rather grumpy at the moment though.
"Stupid Pop. I was tellin' the truth. Ain't just my imagination," he muttered to himself as sat hunched over in anger. "I really did do that stuff, and he ain't right sayin' it's just me playin' games."
The pigtailed boy scowled as he considered his father's dismissal, and found himself really wanting to show the man how wrong he was. However, his old man was not likely to believe him until he could prove it, and he knew that there would be only one way to do it. However, after the reception that he'd gotten, he wasn't sure that he actually wanted to let his Pop in on this neat new move, at least not until he could control it better. Though he did hope that there was not only one way to use it, since that'd limit it a lot. He couldn't be sure of that though, as he still had little knowledge of what exactly had let that happen.
But there was someone who likely knew everything about it, and he tried concentrating hard on his mark to call her. He wasn't quite sure of how he was supposed to do it, but he scrunched up his face and just tried.
And he was rewarded as she faded into sight in front of him. "I don't see any enemies, so I doubt that you need help in a fight."
"Nah. I just wanted ta talk for a bit, and practice that summonin' thing, 'cause I can't get better unless I keep on doin' it."
"True. So, what did you want?"
"That shot ya did yesterday... Is that all ya can do?"
"'All'? No, as you get stronger, the powers that I can use get stronger as well."
"Cool! So, I get ta use a lot of fire..," he began.
"And ice, lightning, water and others, given the chance."
"What?! Ya can do all that?"
She shook her head. "No. My powers are mainly fire and divinations."
"'Divi'-whatsit?"
"'Divinations. I can sense things, and help you do. And you'll gain powers in my avenue as things get going. But there are others like me, and they have the same set up. A summoner calls them up, and uses their power. You're special. As you get closer to them, you'll be drawn to where they rest."
"Then I could find them and get more special techniques that way?"
"Yes, you could..," she admitted as she began to fade out.
"Great! But... What's your name, anyway?"
"Mars," she replied just as she disappeared, and the word floated on the breeze while:
