"Come on, you piece of junk!! I already coughed up the money so gimme my damn chocolate!!" The vending machine was shaken for a bit until a chocolate bar that had been stuck when the mechanism rotated got loose. "Thank you!!" The young man with orange hair stuck his hand in to retrieve his candy. After taking off the wrapper, he allowed himself to savour the sweet flavour of the chocolate. He glanced at his watch as he ate. "Shit...I'm going to be late!!"
He rushed out of the cafeteria and ran through the military base to the mobile suit storage area. When he arrived there were two young cadets, a female with red hair and blue eyes and a male with blonde hair, waiting for him. "There you are, Instructor McFarlane," murmured the young male.
"Sorry. Vending machine was acting like an ass. Now today's training test is a simple mock battle between you two in atmospheric conditions. We already placed the safe weapons that you'll be using in your mobile suit armament. As you know, these weapons when fired will shoot out a signal. When it makes contact with any part of your mobile suit, the monitors in your cockpits will tell you where you hit and how much damage you would have done if this had been a real weapon." McFarlane finished his chocolate and tossed the wrapper into a garbage can.
"We know this already, sir," grumbled the female.
McFarlane gave a shrug. "Standard procedure, cadet. Anyways, there's a thirty minute time limit to the test. The first one to make thirty successful hits on their opponent will be declared the winner of the battle. That's your debriefing so get moving!!"
"Yes, sir!" The two split off to get into the cockpits of the mobile suits that they would be using. After the suits were initiated, the male contacted his opponent over the radio. "Ladies first."
"Always the gentleman, huh?" She smirked before moving her suit to the catapult.
"Please stand by for launch..." In her mind, she started preparing a battle plan for the match. "System all green. You may proceed, cadet."
"Lunamaria Hawke, heading out!!" The catapult activated and propelled her GINN unit into the atmosphere. It then reset itself for the male pilot.
"System all green. You may proceed, cadet."
"Rey Za Burrel, launching!!"

"This meeting of the Blue Cosmos senior council will come to order." Several men took their seats while one remained standing. "The first item on the agenda is the status of the Biological CPU program. Doctor Robertson?"
Another man stood up. "My team has recently come up with a possible alternative to the enhancement drugs that were used by our last three successful subjects, Clotho, Shani and Orga." He tapped a button on his console to reveal a rough schematic of a chamber. "This Regenerative Chamber will feed the enhancement chemicals into certain areas of the subject's body. In simpler terms, this will be their 'beds' so to speak. I don't have too many details that I can spare at this time since we're still working on this but with the Earth Alliance's rate of technological progress, we'll probably have to use this in combination with lesser drugs in order for the subjects to compete on the battlefield against Coordinators." He took his seat again.
"Thank you for your report, Doctor. Now the next item on our agenda is developing a long term plan in light of these new political situations. Obviously, our influence among the higher ranks of the Earth Forces has gone down a bit with the loss of Azrael and Sutherland. It looks like peace will be in for a while so this is the time to start rebuilding our forces. What do we have so far?" A person cleared his throat. "Yes, Mr. Reynald?"
"Work has begun on a new battleship, which has been named the Girty Lue. Also, I've been able to secure at least one Strike Dagger mass production facility so that should keep us toe to toe with those ZAFT mass production units."
"It's a small start at least. We need to find some way to increase the power of the Daggers. My operatives in space have informed me of ZAFT's new mass production suit, the ZGMF-600 GuAIZ. Seems to be quite a bit tougher than a standard GINN. I'm going to be counting on you to get our Daggers upgraded as well, Mr. Reynald."
"Yes, Lord Djibril."

"I don't believe it...how the hell did you make those last two shots like that?!?" screeched Hawke as she exited her GINN mobile suit. Rey simply shrugged.
"Good work out there, Za Burrel. You too, Hawke. You were only a few shots from taking that match yourself," said McFarlane. Luna fumed for a bit as McFarlane continued to speak. "By the way, the manuals for the GuAIZ are in so go pick up a copy at the head office when you get a moment. Dismissed!!"
Moments later after the pilots showered and changed, Luna started grumbling. "All that time learning about the GINN and now we have to learn about another new mass production suit?"
"The interface is about the same. All you really need to worry about is the feel of the suit and its offensive and defensive capabilities," replied Rey. While the two continued talking, they passed by another cadet lying on the couch in the lounge, who simply pressed a button on a cell phone to begin listening to the former owner's voice message.
"Hi, you’ve reached Mayu’s cell. I’m not here right now, so leave a message after the beep and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Buh-bye!"
'Mayu...'
