Ami had juku, aka cram school. Ranma wanted to practice and so had made a couple of calls.
"She KNOWS?!" Usagi asked, aghast.
"Yeah," said Ranma, feeling a bit strange at talking to Ami's friends without Ami being there. "Both me and Ami are grounded. She was originally limiting our time away to 'school, practicing, cram school, and study sessions.' She added 'saving the planet' later. Anyone want some juice?"
"Yeah, I guess," said a hesitant Rei.
"So, does this mean that you won't be doing any last minute rescues?" asked Makoto.
"Ami seems to be taking my involvement as encroaching on 'her turf'," pointed out Ranma as he poured juice in the kitchen. "So I expect I'll settle for just throwing in when it's looking you're in a spot."
"Ah," said Minako. "Well, Tuxedo Kamen doesn't show all the time, so you can do that."
"What'cha got on this enemy anyway? Like to know who we're fighting," said Ranma.
Several girls looked at a cat.
"Meow?" asked Luna.
"Can you do that transformation thing? I never actually saw you transform," said Makoto, who absolutely did not have any sort of ulterior motive in such a request.
Ranma sighed. "Okay. Kinda loud and bright though, just so you're warned."
A little black cat wandered close, watching for any sign of a Dark Taint.
tap - crackle - KA-THOOM!
Thor stood there, watching the girls blinking their spots away from their vision and knowing they likely had been deafened for the moment. He glanced down to see a now poofy-haired black cat stagger away. "Methinks that was not thy wisest move, feline."
Makoto and Minako sighed happy little sighs. Red shaggy hair aside, Thor was tall and buff and looked like he could wrestle trains in his bare hands. And they did have his sister's permission.
Usagi waited until the ringing in her ears had finally faded. "Why did you tell your mother?"
Thor shrugged. "Ami did think it was an option, and didst I ponder it - saw the merit therein. Despite our parent's often absence due to the requirements of her position, she hast always supported our endeavors and stood behind us. As these events do merit her concern - it only seemed right that she be informed."
"Great," said Usagi, not sounding at all sincere.
"At least she hath agreed not to speak directly to thine parents," said Thor.
"Urk," said Usagi and Minako simultaneously.
The black cat seemed to want to say something but held her tongue.
"In any case, it doth seem likely that I shall be of use in carrying the battle to thine enemies," said Thor, sitting down though the chair seemed to protest this action. "As mineself, mine prowess in the fighting arts is considerable yet insufficient for thine foes. As the god of thunder, mine strength is prodigous and Mjolnir here doth pack a punch that be hard to ignore. Storms can I summon, and their fury command. Whilst mine sister doth attend her juku, shall ye tell me more of thine battles and how I might aid thee?"
With a look between themselves and a cat clearing her throat, the girls began relaying the message of a timeline shifted by many minor details.
Though in the main it was the same. The Menace had been showing up for a few months at most. Every week they ran into another yoma who had a victim and an evil plan to drain energy from victims to send to the Dark Kingdom. Other than they were evil bad guys and there was some missing-and-presumed-dead Dark General Jedite and they were now facing some other Dark General, details were noteably absent.
