Hugo’s machine was a weapons platform in the form of a mobile suit, so all he had to do was play “Dodge, Dodge Revolution” and get in a hit when he could. Akira was in a different league, and if his machine could go toe-to-toe with the Freedom, well even the mighty Blue Frame had limits. Maybe if he had a better suit he could take Akira, but not like this.
The console beeped, indicating someone was sending a transmission. He pressed a button which then had a vid-screen pop up. “Thanks for the help, for a minute there I thought we’d fail when that machine went for the shuttle.” Said a grateful Kira Yamato as the Freedom moved closer toward the Blue Frame.
“Uh no problem really, it was nothing.” Kou chuckled a bit nervously.
A few more vid-windows popped up on his screen as the other Gundam pilots entered the com-chat. “What the heck? A kid’s piloting that suit?” Yzak exclaimed.
Kou face-faulted, “Sheesh what is with people and my age? So I can pilot a mobile suit big deal!”
“Where did you get that mobile suit anywhere?” Athrun asked, raising an eyebrow.
Kou felt himself start to sweat. How do you tell someone you stole a mobile suit from in front of the owners so you could rush in and help them stop a fanatical Anti-Natural group bent on re-starting the war? “Uh…”
Just then Erica Simmons’s image appeared on the monitor. “This is the Kusanagi; to the pilot of the Blue Frame we request that you dock with our ship so we can return to port. And before you ask, you don’t have an option since we’re acting on behalf of the owner of the suit as well as that we built it.”
“Behalf of the owner?” Dearka raised an eyebrow as the Buster turned itself to look at Blue Frame.
“Um, thing is I kinda stole this suit from one of the docks.” He began to sweat more at the looks he was starting to get. “I was gonna bring it back!!”
”Athrun can you escort him to the Kusanagi? Just incase.” Erica asked.
The Strike Rouge lifted its beam rifle, aiming it right at the Blue Frame. “Sorry pal, even if you helped us you did steal that suit.”
Kou’s head lowers and he sighs pathetically. “Oh maaaaaan.”
*********
After docking the Blue Frame into one of the Kusanagi’s many empty MS-docks, Kou popped the hatch of Blue Frame and got out. The clicking of several assault rifles got his attention as a few armed guards floated before him. “This is not my day...”
Athrun still inside the Strike Rouge, watched as Kou was cuffed and led off out of the hanger. “Okay the prisoner is detained, I’m returning to the Eternal.”
”Roger that Athrun, you take care.” Eric said as she watched the mobile suit leave the ship. She flipped on another monitor that held the face of Gai Murakumo. “We’ve secured Blue Frame, other than two Armor Schneider’s missing, the suit is undamaged. Also the thief claims he was going to return it.”
”That’s what Loretta and Kazahana said he told them when he took Blue Frame.” Gai replied. “Also while I’m not happy he took my mobile suit…I have to admit I’m impressed.”
”You saw the battle?”
”Yeah, and not just his fighting skills, I meant how he bypassed and shut down my security protocols to prevent theft. Also judging by how he fought he probably re-wrote the OS to handle that sword so flawlessly, he’d make Lowe jealous.”
”You sound more amused than mad, I’m surprised.” Erica chuckled.
“As I said I am not thrilled he took Blue Frame, but it seems he didn’t intend to steal it for himself…so I can let it slide.”
”So you won’t press charges?”
Gai’s mouth curled in a smirk. “Oh he can stew in a cell for a bit to contemplate stealing a mercenary’s mobile suit, but no I won’t press charges.”
“Ahhh, got’cha. We’ll have Blue Frame back in your hands shortly.”
“Good, see you later Chief Simmons.” With that, Gai cut the line.
