"Good evening and welcome to another edition of PLANT Headlines. I'm Joan Campbell," said the female newsanchor. "Our top story today is the beginning of what may lead to a permanent peace in the future. Joshua Falbreo has all the details."
A dark skinned male took over. "Thank you, Joan. Earlier today, negotiations took place between the Secretary General of the Earth Alliance and the PLANT Supreme Council. The bargaining agenda focused on creating a new trade agreement between the Earth and the PLANTs along with stregthening diplomatic relations between Naturals and Coordinators. Of course, today's conference nearly became derailed when the escort of the Secretary General was attacked by several mysterious units that appear to have originated from ZAFT's military factory. Councilman Gilbert Dullindal had this to say."
The focus shifted to Gilbert being surrounded by several different reporters. "First, let me assure you that the units that have made an attempt on the Earth Forces escort are not officially registered with the ZAFT military. I repeat, those units are not part of ZAFT. Furthermore, I have launched an investigation on how these units were produced without our knowledge. When the investigation produces some results, we will release a proper statement to the press."
The clip ended and the show shifted back to Joshua. "Regardless of the earlier excitement, Secretary General Olbani still conducted the negotiations on behalf of the Naturals. In this reporter's opinion, this truly does display his strength of character. Just 30 minutes ago, the PLANT Supreme Council gave a press conference to summarize the details of today's conference."
Once again, the show focused on a small booth with several microphones in front. Councilwoman Eileen Canaver stepped up to speak. "I would like to assure the citizens of the PLANTs and the Earth that the progress being made between us is positive. We will continue to negotiate to come to a fair deal that will benefit both sides substantially."
The clip ended with the focus once again on Joshua. "With the details that has been released to us, there will be several more conferences held in Aprilius One like the one today until an agreement is reached. The Secretary General could not be reached for a comment due to security reasons. We'll keep you updated as the story progresses. Joan?"
"Thank you, Joshua. In other news, a breakthrough in ship engineering at Martius Four. Heather Swet has all the details."

"Shift's over, Lee. You can go home now." A female brunette came into the small security office of the Maius Two ZAFT Robotics Engineering Research Laboratory.
"Thanks. Good night Wendy." Lee picked up his backpack and headed out the door. Wendy checked the security camera feedback for any suspicious activity. There didn't seem to be anything going on.
"Another long night. At least the job pays well." She smiled at the thought of her next paycheque. With the amount she had saved in her account and the upcoming paycheque, she could take her husband and two children out for an enjoyable vacation. Perhaps they could go to the Junius Nine vacation resort. Lord knows how many times the kids have bugged her to go there.
After an hour passed, she decided to go out, make some rounds and check up on some of the other members of the night shift. Picking up a flashlight, she stepped out into the dark corridors of the laboratory. As she walked along a certain section, she gave a small frown when she didn't see Steven at his post. 'Wonder where he went? He should have called in if he had to change his position.' She tripped on something, sending her to the ground. 'What in the...?' She gasped when she turned her flashlight to see Steven lying on the ground with some blood on his head. Wendy willed herself to calm down and checked for a pulse. 'He's still alive. Just knocked out. Who in the world would do this? There isn't an Earth Forces presence in space other than the Naturals negotiating at Aprilius One!'
She heard some commotion coming from fifty metres ahead on the right near Dr. Swanson's laboratory. She withdrew her gun from her holster and turned off the flashlight, not wanting to let the intruders know that she was on to them. 'So much for an uneventful evening.' Her experience allowed her to navigate the corridor without needing to see very well. Eventually, she slowly made her way to the lab where she could make out a few hushed voices.
"That's the stuff we need to stabilize the Messiah's specialized reactor so be careful with it, Hugo!"
"I know that, Leo! Easy does it and...there!"
"Good. We've got what we need so let's get out of here." Akira motioned for his comrades to follow him outside and back to the rendezvous point with the Pegasus transport crew.
"FREEZE!! On the ground, now!!" Wendy stepped in with her Glock pistol pointing at the trio.
"I think not." Leo quickly tossed a magnesium flashbang, causing Wendy to panic and fire wildly as she had to shut her eyes from the intense light. The trio didn't have any problems as they wore special goggles to protect their eyes but when Wendy started firing, they got out of the way. Hugo quickly punched her a few times to knock her out.
"That takes care of that. Now let's scram!!" The others didn't argue with that.
