For Kira and Athrun, their minds were taken back to that battle; the Strike cutting the Blitz in two, the Aegis then destroying the Skygrasper piloted by Tolle, and then the angst-ridden battle that nearly claimed Kira and Athrun’s lives, their friendship, and their souls. Their bodies trembled at the memories, a time both wanted to leave in the past as a reminder of what they both nearly lost was now staring them in the face.
Dearka’s mouth tried to move but nothing came out.
It was Yzak who broke the silence; he turned to face Erica and demanded aloud. “What the fucking hell is the Blitz’s arm doing on that thing?!”
Erica winced at Yzak’s tone but couldn’t blame him. “Orb did a salvage operation when we got a request from the Archangel to find Kira. Besides finding Athrun and the Strike we also took what was worth salvaging from the Aegis’s remains, and the Blitz’s arm was found.” She sighs, continuing. “The original pilot of Gold Frame Rondo asked for us to attach it to Gold Frame since its right arm had been lost during Heliopolis’s destruction. Through the Blitz’s arm, the parts we took from the Aegis and the repairs on the Strike; Orb finally uncovered how to create Phase-Shift armor and to operate the Mirage Colloid system. We incorporated the arm and its PS armor and Mirage Colloid into Gold Frame per Rondo’s instructions. At the time nobody knew of Rondo or his twin sister Mina’s rather twisted political aspirations for Orb.”
“So you took the arm from the Blitz and put it on that thing for research? Why not just build the damn thing a new arm!”
“I told you, Rondo wanted it on there. Also it’s not like we desecrated your friend’s body.” Erica rationalized.
Yzak growled but at this point the rational part of his brain had begun to calm him down. “Still-“
“Look at it this way Yzak, the arm of your friend’s suit can now make a difference and help bring peace if that will help put you at ease.”
Yzak digested the words slowly and nodded, he turned to Kou. “You better not let anything happen to that arm kid…”
Kou nodded, “You have my word.” While he was out of a loop, from what he could gather, the pilot of the destroyed Blitz was a friend of the platinum haired pilot. Kou looked over at Athrun and Kira who by now had their concerned girlfriends by their sides. “Are they…gonna be okay, they still look pale.”
”Nicol’s death…has a lot of bad history between them. Seeing the Blitz’as arm must have brought up bad memories.” Dearka explained solemnly. He felt Miriallia’s hand softly grasp his and he squeezed back.
Kou winced, “I…can relate.” He said softly recalling losing someone he too cared about.

“Alright we got her unloaded now.” A tall man with a mop-top, wearing a Junk Guild vest said as he climbed out of the Red Frame Astray mobile suit he used to move the Gold Frame into the hanger. He looked down at the feet of the Red Frame. “Yo Liam, when’s the pilot going to show up? I wanna see who we’re giving Gold Frame too.”
”Just be patient Lowe, I’m sure the pilot is on the way.” The Coordinator chuckled at the hyper antsyness his co-worker displayed as usual.
“Yeah but who knows when we’ll be called off to do something.” Lowe protested.
“I doubt we’d be sent off on a job right off the bat Lowe.” Said a woman who floated out toward the Red Frame, she tsk’d. “You’re too hyper sometimes.”
”So sue me I just wanna see if this guy’s gonna be right for Gold Frame Kisato.” Lowe hmph’d as he crossed his arms.
“Well looks like you’re going to find out.” The woman simply called Professor said as she pointed to a door opening into the hanger.
Lowe, Kisato and Liam turned their heads. They recognized Erica Simmons, but the platinum haired guy, the dark-skinned blonde in ZAFT uniforms, the girl with the pink EA uniform, or the young kid with her were not people they did not. “Yo Chief Simmons!” Lowe shouted as he floated down from Red Frame’s cockpit.
“Hello yourself Lowe thanks for retrieving Gold Frame.” Erica said gratefully with a pleasant smile.
The Junk Tech gave a thumbs up, “Eh no problem, so who’s the lucky devil who gets to operate this machine?”
”That would be me.” Kou answered, raising his hand.
Lowe, Liam, and Kisato blinked, while the Professor raised an eyebrow with an amused smirk.
“…Why does everyone react like that when I tell em’ I can do things?” Kou grumbled.
“I think the fact your age and size is a factor shrimp.” Yzak said.
”SHRIMP?!” Kou turned to Yzak, his eye-twitching. “I’m not short for my age dumbass!”
”You’re a shrimp compared to me, and- hey! Who’re you calling a dumbass rookie?!”
”They’re getting along quite nicely.” Dearka mused with a chuckle, and Miriallia giggled in agreement.
