The first part was normal, accepted, and something she'd been used to. The second was a new addition and not quite so easily acceptable.
She had a tail, she had cat ears, but there was more to it than that.
Her senses seemed more acute, though the colors seemed to have drained somewhat in her vision. There were the sounds and smells - which she realized she would have to learn to filter out. A crowded subway train would be almost unbearable.
"KIYAAAAA!"
Shinobu's voice startled her out of her reverie, and Motoko ran. She was there faster than she expected, and discovered another thing about catgirls.
CRASH!
They were stronger than some of the walls they could run into.
"Shinobu, are you all..." Motoko stopped and stared.
Shinobu unfurled her wings, spreading them out like some blanket. "I... I'm dead?!"
"No, you're just transformed like me," said Motoko, pulling splinters out of her clothing.
"You've got a tail?!" Shinobu noticed.
"Yes," said Motoko. "Come on. We need to get some fresh air and a hot soak, I think."
Neither Negi Springfield, nor Keitaro Urashima, nor even Ranma Saotome, had been the only ones to treat the women in their lives as they came down with the strange disease.
Some were even stranger.
"I don't know this stuff at all," said Inuyasha.
"Well, you can't go back to the Feudal Era until the disease has passed," said Kagome's younger brother. "Just keep changing that cloth over her forehead and we'll give her some broth later."
"It can't be helped," said the grandfather. "What about this girl from the past?"
"One of Kagome's ideas," said Inuyasha. "She figured if she could carry a backpack back and forth, what if one of us tried carrying one of the others through the well? Shippo wanted to come, but Miroku said he'd seen a vision of some kind and that Sango should come. Boy, did he get it wrong."
"Too bad, well at least both of 'em can share a bed," said the shrine priest. "I'll just work a few extra sutra charms around the room."
"I don't know that it matters that much," said Inuyasha. "From what I saw on that picture-box-thing, Kagome's already turning into:"
