Cagalli couldn’t help but giggle as she watched Kou eat his seafood and then comment on how he’d be spoiled to ever return to normal foods. While the Coordinator had ordered the special seafood platter with a wide variety of tasty seafood, Cagalli settled for steak and oysters. “You said that when you took a bite of the calamari, then the crab legs, and everything else on your platter you’ve eaten.”
Kou simply shrugs before spearing some scampi with his fork and taking a bite, his eyes watering in bliss. “Oh God I’m in heaven.”
”You’re easy to please.” Cagalli shook her head in amusement.
Kou simply grins. “There is nothing wrong with enjoying the simple things in life. In my humble opinion, that you set yourself up for a fall if you only desire and admire the finer things in life. A good hot meal and just enjoying life is good enough for me.”
“Although I’m sure a mobile suit or two to tinker with wouldn’t be a bad thing either?” Cagalli grinned.
”Never said if the finer things came my way I’d turn it down now did I?” He replies with a grin of equal measure. “Thanks again for the lunch, even the food at the Junius 9 resort wasn’t this good.”
Cagalli nodded in agreement as she took a bite of her steak. Somehow the food just seemed to taste much fresher on Earth than in space even if it wasn’t synthesized.”
“So after we eat what next?”
Cagalli taped the end of her fork against her chin in thought. “We’ll take a look around at the various reconstruction efforts and see how that’s coming along. Then we’ll pay the relief centers a visit, and finally we’ll head over to Morgenroete to check on the mobile suits. Erica said they found two Striker Packs designed for the Strike and Strike-Rouge that were hidden in the bunkers below Morgenroete that didn’t get blown up or discovered by the Earth Forces when they did a clean-sweep of the area.”
“Sounds like a plan…say you gonna finish that steak?”
Cagalli defensively put an arm around her plate. “Mine, eat your own damn food, if you wanted steak you should have ordered some.”
”I didn’t wanna be a pig and drain your wallet.” He pouts defensively.
”And that platter isn’t enough?” She eyed the large platter that once held a boatload of seafood.
“I’m a growing man still, I need to eat.”
Cagalli face-palmed, “I wonder if this is what it’s like to have a little brother who constantly annoys you or makes you laugh.”

Tapping his fingers on his joystick, Lane Kaxton looked out through the open cockpit hatch of his GINN-LRRC (Long-Range-Recon Type), waiting for his comrades to arrive. He checked his watch again and sighed, looking back out the hatch overlooking the ocean. He was currently waiting on a small rocky island that was decently out of radar range, but to be cautious he turned off all power save his sensors to detect incoming bogey’s or his teammates.
His radar went off and he checked the reading, he sighed in relief as it was a friendly signal, he shut his hatch and switched on his GINN’s systems. A moment later a ZAFT DSPCV (Deep-Subversive-Personel-Carrier-Vehicle) emerged from the open. The front loading ramp came down revealing the Orb attack-force mobile suit team. “Status Report Lane.” Tammy Bruin’s voice came in clear on the com-channel.
“Ma’am, the Orb Union is concentrating all efforts into reconstruction and their military strength is non-existent past a few naval ships, whatever mobile suits Morgenroete has rebuilt, and the mobile suit for of the Kusanagi.”
“What about the Junk Guild?” Tammy pressed. “Did you see Lowe Gear’s Red Frame, I checked Intel and they informed me his team was among those who answered Orb’s reconstruction contract.”
Lane nodded. “I confirmed spotting Red Frame working on the Harbor, as for the rest of the Junk Guild work force, they’re machines do not seem to be armed.”
Tammy did a mental calculation. “The Kusanagi Has both the Strike-Rouge, Gold Frame, and three confirmed M1’s. The naval ships are no threat as we’re mounting a land assault, and we can confirm Red Frame as a threat and possibly a few other M1’s from Morgenroete.” She tapped the chin of her helmet for a second. “Lane, what of their ground forces?”
”FUBAR ma’am, as it is their main defense force is composed of what the Kusangi’s mobile suit force can offer.”
“That means we’ll have no more than equal numbers in terms of enemy numbers if they’ve rebuilt any more M1’s. This raid might just work after all.” Anna, the pilot of the Daller L equipped with the Doppelhorn Striker pack said over the channel.
“Even if the Junk Guild’s got construction MS, without weapons they’re useless. The Red Frame’s the only one we need to worry about.” Larry, the pilot of the Dagger L with the Jet Striker pack chuckled.
“Still, don’t underestimate them if they get involved.” Tammy warned. “Also I want all combat to avoid populated areas if we can. Remember our main objective is to wipe out the Kusanagi, not Orb itself.”
Barton, one of the other DoMZ pilots snorts. “So what if we wipe out a few civilian Naturals who’re in the way or some Junk Guild pussies. It just means we’re whittling down their numbers for when the big plan goes into work. Killin’ all those stupid Naturals is part of what we’re about ain’t we?”
“YOU FUCKING IDIOT!” Tammy’s voice shouted over the com-line, making everyone wince from the intensity. “Have you even bothered to read all the details of the master plan the inner circle created?” She asked incredulously as her subordinate said the dumbest thing in the world. “Besides the fact the Junk Guild also has fellow Coordinators in their ranks, Orb is a nation that welcomes our kind as well. We’re here to wipe out the Kusanagi, not commit senseless slaughter of a nation that has been kind to Coordinators.”
“Further more Barton, Obsidian Abyss’s plans will kill off all the Naturals, EVENTUALLY! She said with added conviction. “As in we can’t kill them all off at once even if we wanted too. As it is we’ll need some of the Naturals alive until a few things are taken care of.”
”Like what?” He asked almost defiantly.
”For example; despite his propaganda and beliefs, Patrick Zala was dead wrong about us Coordinators being a new species. We are not; we’re dying out in the 3rd Generation even with regulated marriages. As it is the genetic enhancements seem to wane or cause problems in 3rd Generation Coordinators that cause a decline in birthrates and that the enhancements are nearly non existent in the very few 4th Generation Coordinators that are born.” She states slowly as if trying to educate a mental challenged person. “So until a means to fix those problems we need Naturals so we can have a supply of 1st Generation Coordinator born into the world until such time there is no problem with Coordinators being born on down to 10th Generations and beyond with no lack of born enhancements or infertility popping up in mass numbers in a later generation.”
”She’s right Barton, besides not all these Natural pricks belong to Blue Cosmos or believe the bullshit the Earth Alliance feeds them about us being evil.” Anna spoke up, her Dagger L lightly slapping the shoulder of Barton’s DoMZ.
”And those few and fortunate Naturals will help us build a new humanity by making the Coordinator the new humanity.” Tammy stated. “So remember dumbass, we don’t want to act like Blue Cosmos and just kill mindlessly like a bunch of terrorists. We have a mission and a purpose to better humanity. So don’t betray it for petty kicks and thrills.”
Barton growled but nodded, he hated it when he was belittled like that. Some of his teammates wondered how he got into the organization considering its strict recruiting process. Barton seemed mostly intent on waging mass-murder against the Naturals with little regard to the grand scheme of things. Then again even Obsidian Abyss wasn’t perfect, even once in awhile a couple of fools passed the screening test by luck or circumstance.
“Lane what’s the status of your machine?”
”I’m ready to roll Lieutenant, I used up the extra battery packs flying here and doing my observations, so I’m fully charged and weapons ready.” Lane replied in a gung-ho tone.
“Good, we’ll begin our operation in an shortly. Everyone move into positions.”
