At the moment, he was wide eyed over the sight of a metal dog crawling along the floor. "Ya made this?"
"All by myself," the Salusian girl next to him said with a grin.
"Wow... I didn't know that kids our age could do stuff like this..."
"I just like making things..."
"Ya make really good stuff."
"Thanks!" she replied. "I'm gonna be the best builder I can."
"Sorta like how I'm gonna be the best martial artist."
"You're going to be a fighter?"
"Uh-huh. My Pop's trainin' me."
"My aunt's teaching me..."
"Cool..."
"I'd think so."
"So, we'll be the best together!" Ranma declared, "I'm gonna be makin' sure that everyone knows that I'm the best martial artist there is, and ya'll be the best maker of machines there is."
"Winry Rockbell, the best builder in the Conglomerate!"
"That's the way!"
"But if you think this is amazing, come and look at what else I've made!"
"Sure!"
And official watched the two children race off, but stayed where he was so that he could turn to the human next to him. "Looks like they're getting along."
"So I see..." Genma murmured, knowing that things were not settled by a long shot. He would not feel safe until he was able to leave with his boy to resume the training journey. Then they could wait until it was the time for the engagement to be fulfilled to return.
"Hopefully, this will be a sign of their future together."
"Yes, it is."
"And I'm sure that you're happy that you didn't choose the other option."
"Uh-huh," the portly man replied, nodding with great meaning as he knew that there were worse fates than having to wait for his son to get used to being engaged to that girl. After all, he could have wound up on an asteroid prison somewhere, and wishing for the day he'd be free. That was a situation he wanted to avoid at all costs, while:
