The New Demon: Handing responsibility. [Episode 141561]

by Drakuzz

Nabiki rolled her eyes as she heard the sounds of Ranma giving it to Mara, if only by how she was screaming. "If they can keep it up for eternity I don't think she'll mind too much..."

Urd had a look of clear jealousy on her features, while Nodoka was dancing around even happier than during the wedding.

Belldandy, for her part was now bringing in a garden hose to spray down the walls. Oh, she hoped she could get that goat blood out. "Urd, could you please remove the decapitated chickens?"

The older goddess blinked her eyes and turned to see that Hild had yet to move a finger. In fact the demoness was eyeing the human woman, Nabiki, in an appraising way. "Uh... I'll be right on it, Bell." She didn't know if she should leave Nabiki alone with Hild.

"Thank you, Urd," Belldandy responded as she turned on the hose and was spraying the walls with water.

Hild just continued to smile as she listened to the music of frantic copulating. Boy, that guy could keep going.

She was pretty certain Mara wouldn't mind in the long run. It was just that right now she was out of balance by what happened.

Which was quite a lot.

But for now, the leader of Nifelheim had other things to take care of...

Belldandy turned to Hild, asking sweetly, "Could you please remove the pentagram from the ceiling, Hild-sama?" One couldn't say Belldandy wasn't polite.

"Oh..." Hild shrugged. Why not? The girl was being rather accommodating for her today, one little favor wouldn't hurt. Reaching behind her, the ruling demoness took said pentagram off from the wall behind her.

Urd raised an eyebrow. Hild was being rather nice right now... What was she after?

Turning to Nabiki, Hild had a rather unnerving pleasant smile on her face. "Oh, Nabiki-chan?"

Oh Kami-sama! She was using her term of endearment!

Nabiki raised an eyebrow, trying her hardest to hide her fear from the overly powerful demoness. "That' my name."

"Nabiki-chan, I just wanted to say... Thank you," Hild said seriously. "You were a valued asset in making this wedding possible." She grinned. "Especially by taking that picture for me."

The middle Tendo sister smirked. "I'll take that compliment."

"I know. After all, you ARE one of the very best photographers out there," Hild said. "After sending some people to me, I was very pleased to know you were quite the 'artist' with taking pictures. I bet you have just the right angle to show Mara-chan's agony."

"Is all this leading to something?" Nabiki asked with a raised eyebrow. A no nonsense kind of person when dealing with business.

"Nabiki-chan," Hild started slowly. "I've known of you for quite some time. Do you know how many poor shmucks have killed themselves because you've been blackmailing them and putting them in bad positions?"

"I would have to care first to know," Nabiki said off-handedly as she looked away in apparent disinterest.

Hild just continued to smile. "Just so you know, you were inflicting some high quality suffering... So if you ever need a job..." She left the statement hanging.

Nabiki instantly turned to Hild at that. "And what is your offer for my services? The least I can do is know what you need."

"Anything you want," Hild said seriously as she slowly placed the Necronomicon underneath her arm. "After all, a woman with a diverse array of talents such as yourself could make herself a niche anywhere in Nifelheim."

"I don't want to start out from the bottom, for starters," Nabiki said trying to gauge Hild's reaction to this one.

"Understandable," The woman said seriously. "You're FAR more skilled than any level Seven Demons." She considered it for a moment. "Won't be at the top though, since you'd need time to get the feel for it... But I'd say I could start you pretty high up on the food-chain."

The human nodded. "That's pretty tempting. However... What would be expected of me?"

"Whatever you want," Hild said. "I told you, your choice. You have a vast array of skills; I need not assign you any specific field. You get a choice."

Nabiki narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "Okay. So far it sounds good. Too good to be true. What's the catch?"

"No catch," Hild said. "Just offering you a chance to better yourself for when you pass from this mortal coil. I've seen your portfolio. You're NOT going to Heaven."

"Oh, no need to be so hard on her," Belldandy said as continued cleaning. She had finished with the hose and was using a nice towel and wood polish on the floor.

"Bell-chan..." Hild said slowly. "You realize who this girl is, right?"

"Nabiki Tendo," Belldandy said calmly.

"Anyone can go to heaven," Urd said unconvincingly.

"Exactly," Belldandy said. "Even if their Karma will have them in purgatory for a millennia or three."

Just then Nabiki heard Kodachi replace Mara and she turned to Hild accusingly. "So... you are offering me power and a great position... but you're going to sick Ranma on me, right?"

"Oh, nine Hells not," Hild said innocently. "Not unless you try to double-cross me in some way," The demoness told Nabiki in all honesty... And odd trait for an infernal being to have. And certainly one that didn't appease Nabiki's suspicions.

Nabiki looked at Hild critically. "I'll take the deal... but ONLY if I have nothing to do with Ranma and his harem. Ever. I'm not placing my eternal soul in jeopardy because of that walking disaster."

Urd snorted at that. "Wimp." She couldn't see what was so hard about making sure that asshole stayed out of trouble.

Hild raised an eyebrow. "Too bad. Because I would be every so grateful should someone use their abilities to try and keep him in line in other ways..." She said seriously. "Mara failed at it... I need competent people..." She shrugged. "But it is your choice."

Nabiki smirked. "Good luck finding someone that can put up with Ranma-kun's shit and stay sane."

"Oh for Kami's sake! It can't be THAT hard!" Urd said in exasperation. Not that she wanted Nabiki to become a demoness, but she was getting tired of the verbal game. And the longer it lasted the longer Hild would be here.

It was then Hild smiled as she turned to her daughter. "Would you like to try then, Urd-sweetums?" she asked rather innocently.

Urd blinked nervously at that. She said that last bit out loud, didn't she? "Uh... I'm a goddess, remember? I can't exactly take a demon's assignment."

Leaning forward, Hild said, "But you can. You're HALF-demoness, remember my sweet wittle Urd-chan?"

"Don't remind me..." Urd grumbled. "Besides, there's nothing you can offer that I want."

"Well," Hild said slowly, "In getting to control Ranma, you get to take charge of his bitches... Which includes Mara-chan..."

Urd's eyes widened at that. "Really?!"

Hild nodded her head. "Really, really."

"So where do I sign, again?" Urd asked, eager to get some payback of her own on Mara. Sure, she was a goddess and wasn't supposed to be petty... But this is Mara we are talking about!!!

"Your funeral..." Nabiki mumbled from the side and wondered about what she would do after Ranma's revenge was over and done with.

"Urd," Belldandy said in chiding voice. "You can't possibly want to hurt another being... Do you?" The last part was asked in something akin to a sniffle.

"O-of course not, Bell!" Urd said quickly, not wanting to upset Belldandy. "But someone has to make sure Ranma doesn't go overboard again, right? I mean... Even if he is under contract to kill the ones that murdered him I can do damage control... You know, insure that no innocents are hurt this time." Heh, that was a load of bullshit and she knew it. She just wanted dibs on the demoness.

Belldandy smiled and nodded her head. "That is most acceptable... Is it not, Hild-sama?"

"Quite so, Belldandy," Hild said seriously. "Quite so."

Hild couldn't be happier right now. She'd corrupted her wayward daughter more in the last five minutes than in the last seven thousand years.

"So when can you have the paperwork ready, Hild?" Urd asked with a smirk as she called the major demoness by her given name instead of 'mom.'

She was back in control of herself.

Kami-sama bless... Or rather, Satan damn that little chaos magnet.

"Give it a day or two," Hild said. "I do have some other things I need to do on this plane of existence first," The demoness said seriously.

Urd blinked. "... You do?" She thought Hild hated Midgard.

"Yes. I mean, I haven't checked on her in over two thousand years. I need to make sure she's all right," Hild said seriously.

"... Do I even want to know who you're talking about?" Urd asked with a sense of doom.

Hild smiled. "If you want, you can come along to see her."

Urd was split in indecision at that. She wanted to spend as little time as possible with Hild... But at the same time she was curious as hell to know just who the major demoness was going to meet. As far as she knew Hild didn't have any relations on Midgard.

In the end, her uneasiness around her mother won out. "I think I'll pass..."

"Suit yourself, daughter," Hild said seriously. "Perhaps we may see you later if all goes well."

"... Right..." Urd said uncertainly.

"Are you going already, Hild-sama?" Nodoka asked as she approached the demoness, holding her granddaughter close to her with a big grin on her face.

Hild managed a small smile. "Sadly, I must, Nodoka. You look after your son for me in the meantime he stays here. I'm sure you want to get to know each other again."

Nodoka nodded and bowed politely to the demoness. "I'll never be able to thank you enough. Thanks to you my son is back in my life, and already giving me the grandchildren I so desired."

Hild managed a smirk. "Hmm... Getting this good Karma can't be good for me," she teased.

"You said you were leaving," Urd reminded her mother.

Hild smiled. "One more thing before I go..." She turned to Urd, slowly stalking up to her.

Urd shied away nervously.

Hild moved closer.

Urd shied further away.

Hild moved closer even faster, starting to spread her arms out.

Urd panicked and tried to make a break for it...

"Give mommy a big hug goodbye!" Hild called out as she grabbed the younger half-demoness from behind.

"Ack! Let go! MOM!!!" Urd whined as she tried to get away from the blonde demoness.

Turning Urd around in the glomp, Hild smiled at the title and hugged and squeezed her own flesh and blood. "Gonna miss you so much, sweetie!" She hugged tighter; she absolutely loved being called 'mom.'

Urd would've protested further, but she was too occupied trying to get away from Hild's breasts. Why did she always end up there anyway?
