Giving a heavy sigh, Lina said, "I was hoping you wouldn't find out."
"Are you a Jedi?" Luke asked in wonder.
"A Jedi? No. I'm a wizard or sorceress. I use magic to do what I'm doing," Lina replied.
"What are you ding?"
Lina sighed and said, "Come inside. I'll explain everything."
Lina did. She told Luke that she wasn't from this world/universe and was trying to find her way back home. She told him of the many battles that she had been involved in and just how she wound up in front of his uncle's moisture farm. She even gave a demonstration of Aqua Create to show that she wasn't delusional.
Luke stared at the spot where the stream of water had poured onto a small fruit tree. "So, that's how you've been doing it."
Lina just smiled.
Luke turned and asked, "Can you teach me?"
"Huh? Why?"
Luke gave a heavy sigh. "Uncle Owen keeps telling me next year on when he'll allow me to go, but he never will let me go. I want more than to be some moisture farmer. I can't, not here on this backwater planet."
Lina looked at the various books she had gathered and realized that she was probably the only wizard that could teach anyone.
"Stupid oath," Lina thought. "I swore to do what I could to find and preserve magical knowledge. If I don't teach him, I'm breaking that oath."
Lina's shoulders slumped. "All right. But on one condition."
"And that is?"
"You don't tell anyone. Not your aunt, your uncle, your best friend, anyone. Not until, I say you are ready to be on your own."
"If I told Uncle Owen what I was doing, he would ban me from coming here, just as he banned me from seeing old Ben Kenobi."
Lina reluctantly took her first magical apprentice and started teaching him the ways of magic.
Luke had a talent for magic that surprised Lina, even though he started off late in life. During the teaching, Lina figured out how to cast the white magic spell Resurrection. But still the Dragon Slave equivalent of this world eluded her, as did most other Black Magic spells. She could use Blast Ash, Balus Rod, Ragna Blade, and various animal-summoning spells, but spells that called upon Dark Lords were missing from her arsenal.
After Luke left from his daily lesson, Lina sighed and looked at Galvayra.
"The two of us don't belong here. I need to find a way home. Luke will soon be ready to grow on his own. He just needs to get away from Owen Lars. I haven't figured out Luke's affinity yet. This desert isn't helping matters any."
Lina stood up and walked along the length of her bookcases. "The largest collection of magic on this world? What a joke. I could find more in a backwater berg like the town Midas. When I do leave, this is there is going to be."
Lina sat down at a desk and started writing down several spells and mystical knowledge. After a few days, she acquired the parts for several data-pads. Using her magic and newly acquired technical knowledge, Lina created a trio of devices. Each was a thin rectangular box with a lens near one of the ends. They were similar to the fabled Jedi holocrons, but could hold immense amounts of knowledge. Opening her mind Lina filled all three with all her knowledge, even the knowledge that she could not consciously remember. She then added the knowledge from all the books she had bought. She couldn't even get the things to register .01% filled with all that knowledge.
Picking one up, Lina said, "Before I leave, I want all the knowledge I can get from this world. When I get back home, I'll hunt up the Book of Time Sorcery once more to try and reclaim the lost knowledge of the Claire Bible."
