Meia petted the purring human in her lap and wondered about the odd sensations of this odd situation.
She was watched, and she was observed.
One of the Elders of the Tribe was Vivian Magno, who had been one of those that had been aboard the rescue mission that had come after the original crash had occurred in 1959. She was also one of the oldest Tribals around, having more than a century of life under her belt. She watched the girl and her boy for a few moments with an air of amusement about her.
Others reacted a little differently. Dita looked positively envious. Jura wondered at the change in Meia's manner. Barnette worried about the father's influence of the boy becoming a taint that might infect the village.
The Village Of Norwegian Amazon Catgirls had a proud warrior history and tradition. Meia, under normal circumstances, was the proud warrior leader who took that heritage quite seriously. The picture she was presenting at the moment was less a warrior than a young girl stroking a favored pet.
There were many who saw, and many who interpreted this development.
Yet Genma Saotome was not among that number.
The barrell had come apart somewhere around the second waterfall.
Genma Saotome floated down the river, battered by rocks and spray and not understanding why a perfectly innocent martial arts sensei like himself should be treated so harshly.
Climbing out of the river, he quickly found (by stubbing his toe against a half-buried object) the scene of an ancient battleground. Here had been one of the many attempts to launch an assault against that tiny little village.
Scraping the dirt away to find the offending object, Genma quickly realized what he had found.
