Inverse Wars: Victory and Dark Awakening [Episode 141834]

by Disruptor

As the group traveled to Yavin, Han grimaced that both Lina and Leia had told him that they were being followed. He was still debating on whether being freed of the debt to Jabba was worth dealing with both of the girls and 3P0.

Han said, "As soon as we drop them off, we're getting out of here."

Chewabacca grunted noncommittally, when Luke walked into the cockpit.

"That's it? You're just going to leave? Is money all that matters to you?"

Han looked at Luke. "Kid, I'm not getting paid enough to put up with those two women back there. That Lina girl is going to get everyone killed with the stunts she pulls off."

Before any more could be said, Lina came into the cockpit. She smiled a bit, as she looked around.

"Solo, you've been around a while. I'd like to acquire a ship of my own. Any recommendations?"

Luke asked, "Why do you want a ship?"

Lina shrugged. "I don't like having to depend on other people."

Han gave a snort and ran a list of stock light freighters and the various advantages and disadvantages. Lina listened attentively when something caught her interest.

"That one. Pirate bait?"

Han grimaced. "The Corellian HT-2200 is undergunned for a ship of its size. With time and effort, it might make an acceptable craft. It will still attract pirates. It does have that force field you asked about earlier."

Lina smiled. "Thank you, Captain. What you have told me is of great benefit."

Lina left thinking, "If I can't find bandits on roads, I'll attract them with a ship."

Han pointed a thumb in Lina's direction. "She's nuts. That is the only reason anyone would want to be attacked by pirates."

"She didn't say that," Luke said.

"No. But, she was only interested in the HT-2200."

Luke remained silent.

The Falcon arrived at Yavin IV and the ship was given a thorough scan and a homing beacon was found. Preparations were made for the assault on the Death Star. Leia, exasperated with Lina, found a HT-2200 with a powerful hyperdrive replacing its standard hyperdrive and told Lina to take the ship and leave.

Lina looked at Leia. "Why do you want me to leave?"

Leia said through clenched teeth, "You are too dangerous to keep here with the Rebel cause. Just go."

Lina said, "I'll be back. I have something to do first."

Leia watched as Lina walked into her new ship, curious as to what she was planning. A sudden insight passed through her mind, and she quickly ran after the red head.

Grabbing Lina by the shoulder, Leia said, "You're insane! I don't know what you intend to do, but going after the Death Star by yourself is suicide!"

Lina shrugged free of the grasp and gave a wink. "Those who don't dare, don't win."

Leia took some deep breaths. "All right, I'm coming with you. I want to see what you're planning."

Lina asked, "Will you be able to pilot this ship, so were over that big dent on the Death Star?"

"The superlaser lens? I should. Why?"

"You'll see."

Lina's ship launched from the surface of Yavin IV and headed towards the Death Star, which had just appeared in system. Lina left the flying of the ship to Leia, as she headed to one of the storage bays. She opened one of access hatches and stared out.

Leia's voice came over the intercom. "What are you doing?"

"Just listen and watch the Death Star."

Lina activated the Demon Blood Talismans and then ignited Galvayra. On Yavin IV a sentience long forgotten stirred from its sleep. Lina aimed at the central lens of the Death Star's superlaser.

"Mega Brando!"

Lina released the now green glowing bolt of light at the Death Star. Both Galvayra and the Demon Blood Talismans amplified the spell that was amplified once by Kopii Rezo to destroy the city of Sairagg to even greater levels. The energy bolt struck and the Death Star was wracked by massive explosion.

On board the Death Star, Grand Moff Tarkin picked himself off the floor and shouted, "What happened? Report!"

A technician replied, "We've been hit by some sort of attack. The superlaser has been destroyed."

"What? How?" Tarkin demanded.

Slowly standing up as well, Vader said, "It's here. It's that girl who blew up my quarters. This is her doing."

Tarkin said, "That's impossible."

"I told you once not to underestimate the Force. We are now paying for that."

A series of rapid explosions rattled the Death Star, as Lina just rapid fired Galvayra off without amplifing the bow.

A technician reported. "Stardrive down. We are caught in Yavin's gravity field. I estimate about five minutes, before the Death Star collides with Yavin."

Tarkin growled, before switching on the intercom system. "All hands abandon the Death Star. I repeat all hands abandon the Death Star."

Tarkin looked at Vader. "The Emperor is not going to be pleased."

Vader replied, "No, he will not. Next time, little girl."

In space above the Death Star, Lina closed the hatch of her ship and rejoined Leia in the cockpit. She plopped down and twirled Galvayra with one hand.

"End of problem."

Leia just stared at the bow. "That metal bow did all that?"

Lina stopped twirling the bow and held it up. "Galvayra. It is the strongest of the five weapons created by the Dark Lord Darkstar. No, he was not a Sith Lord. The closest equivalent would be the supreme god of the Sith gods, or the ruler of all demons."

"You don't expect me to believe that do you?"

"Whether you do or not is up to you. Any way, I really should get back to trying to find a way home. I've almost finished training Luke."

On Yavin IV, the Rebels were stunned at what had just happened. They watched as several unarmed shuttles and a couple strange fighters fled the imminent destruction of the battle station. Han Solo, who was about to depart, put a hand to his head. He and Chewbacca exchanged glances that conveyed a multitude of feelings. Briggs Darklighter let out a long breath of relief and headed outside.

"Lina is even nuttier than I thought she'd be," Briggs thought, as headed towards a black pyramid.

As he entered the pyramid's chamber, the temperature dropped radically and Briggs could hear a chuckle.

Whirling, he pulled his blaster and gazed in the direction of the laughter. "Who's there?"

A ghostly image of a man appeared before Briggs.

"Your body has as much potential as mine once did. A little tweak here and there."

Briggs leveled the blaster at the person's head. "Who are you? What do you want?"

The man chuckled. "My name is Exar Kun. I watched the battle with great interest. Lina will be mine, but first I need a body. Yours."

Briggs fired several shots at Exar Kun. He stared in horror as the bolts passed harmlessly through Exar's head. Exar raised his hand and a blast of darkness engulfed Briggs. Briggs saw his body fall and then stared as Exar walked up to it and then went into his body.

Exar, now in Briggs' body stood up and glanced at the spirit form of Briggs. "Yes. This body is quite fit. Thank you. As a reward, I'll send you off to oblivion now."

Briggs screamed, as he was forced to make the trip to the afterwards. Inside the Rebel base, Ben clutched his head in pain. Luke ran over and helped him sit down.

"Ben? Are you all right?" Luke asked.

"I felt... I felt something evil wake up," Ben said.

An image of Exar Kun appeared before Ben. "Jedi. How you have fallen. Soon I shall claim what is mine."

Luke said, "Briggs! What are you doing? How are you doing that?"

"Luke, that is not Briggs Darklighter. Not anymore," Ben said and then asked, "Who are you?"

"Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun."

Ben countered, "There are only two Sith. A master and an apprentice. Darth Sidious and Darth Vader are those Sith."

Exar grinned. "In this time, yes. Back in my time, no. I used my Sith powers to stay alive and take over the body of Briggs Darklighter."

Ben tried recalling where he heard the name Exar Kun before. It came to him with flash of horror.

Exar said, "You remember me. I need to get adjusted to this body first. When I do, I'll be back to rip the Empire away from that little upstart Sidious."

A Rebel ran to Kenobi. "General Kenobi. Briggs Darklighter has just killed three people and stolen one of our ships."

Ben sadly said, "That was not Briggs Darklighter. Briggs is dead as well. The person who did all that is named Exar Kun. Exar just looked like Briggs."

The Rebel asked, "Jedi or Sith?"

Ben replied, "Dark Lord of the Sith."

Ben thought, "Lina is going to have to go through Jedi training, if we want to survive this."
