"Oh? But there isn't really anything to know," Artemis replied.
"Why don't you let me be the judge of that?"
"Because I can't see any reason to bother you with that."
"And just what's so simple that it's so unimportant?"
"Nothing really. I mean, how important is it to mention that the owner of the house has a chariot drawn by cats? Other than being good company for a lonely fellow feline, they didn't really do anything," the white mooncat replied.
Luna just stared at him, with her jaw hanging as she contemplated all that his words could mean, and going in a direction that followed the sort of thinking that their charges might come up with.
There were some bleary expressions at the table as Senshi started shuffling in. Some merely dropped onto the benches, and others positioned themselves to minimize causes of pain, but all of them had the universal look of those who'd partied well into the night. With their combinations of clear hangover pains and odd outfits, made for a time that each knew they would not forget.
That was what a tall young woman who looked to be only somewhat older than them saw as she brought in a basket of warm bread. "Ah, you all look like you have been feeling what you have done. But don't worry. We'll have you back up to speed soon enough."
Usagi only tilted her face from where she had it planted on the table top. "Can you make us get better faster?"
"Sorry, but no. I can help you out, but then that's only what anyone can do at the moment."
"Ugh..."
"I know, but try to look on the bright side."
"I party with some really fun guys, do something where I wake up... and even get Ami's brother to help wake me up. But I don't even get a wake up kiss. I'm just feeling like this..." Minako groused, trying to slump but winding up flailing as she tried to keep herself from falling.
"Ah, but you got plenty."
"How do you figure on that?"
"He watched over and protected each of you last night. In fact, he insisted on it."
"He wanted to protect me?" the Senshi of Love murmured as she caught sight of Ami blearily rubbing at her eyes. "Is what... What's your name?"
"Thrud," the young woman replied.
"Is what Thrud said true?"
"He said something about that," the blue haired girl absently replied.
A giddy look crossed Minako's face and she started giggling to herself, seemingly wrapped up in some sort of fantasy. "He protected me. Me!"
Next to her Makoto seemed to find the wood of the table fascinating. "We... He made sure to..."
"Basically. My brother mentioned that he was impressed by how he seemed to care for you."
"Really?"
"Yes. Carried you each out himself."
"Oh..." That had the tall Senshi giving a small, yet immensely pleased smile. Boys had always seen her as the overly strong and tough girl to be afraid of, but apparently her friend's brother, who she already liked, seemed to not only at least care for her, but wanted to defend her.
'He held me while I was in my underwear,' Rei thought dully. 'I was wearing only my underwear when he carried me...'
"That was nice of him," Usagi chirped, and then winced.
"Wasn't it?" Thrud agreed. "A lot of the guys wanted to grab you girls and have you spend the nights in their beds, but he put a stop to it. Didn't think it was right, or that you'd like it when you got up. At least that's what he said."
"He was right... We've got to thank him..."
The girls not related to him nodded, with a certain blonde doing so emphatically, before they each whimpered in pain.
Ami merely frowned and wondered why she was sensing another problem on the horizon. Not that she wasn't going to leave it until later. Right then, she was in too much trouble to even string together a sentence that would be above an early grade school level. She needed time to wallow in her recovery while:
