With Gate travel to Earth being declared to be a strict 'no-no', the units were unable to come home. As the female populace of Earth was turning into various other forms, that was understandable.
It didn't make things 'fun' though.
One Marine rubbed his hands before directing his palms towards the fire in front of him. "Glad we don't have to worry about freezing to death."
"No, we just have to worry about being stuck on this rock," the man across from him muttered.
"If we're stuck, Piper, it won't be anyone's fault, except that virus, or whatever it is."
"Like I couldn't figure that out, Hogan."
"Well then, since you're so understanding, I really hope that you kept up on your old Boy Scout times."
Piper snorted. "I never was a Boy Scout. There were no forests in the city where I grew up."
"They would have taken you out of there."
"They didn't. The Corp and I did."
"Come on guys," commented another member of the team. "Can't we just get along?"
"Funny, Savage. Really funny."
"I wasn't trying for that. I don't think that I want the next person to come through that Gate to find my bones. That's a bad image. Ooooh yeah...."
"Great. Just great."
"Well, it isn't like we have any other choice. We'll have to sit here and wait," Hogan put in.
"So, what do we do then?"
"Try to find shelter, food, and defensible positions."
"For how long? Those MREs we packed won't last forever."
"Which is why we have to learn to at least hunt an animal down. Then we can take it from there."
Piper looked at the blond man for a long moment, and then sighed and nodded, hoping that the 'crisis' on the Earth would be ending soon.
Teal'c heard a sound approaching 'glee' when the women had returned from their chase. Both of them were sweaty and breathing hard, but he didn't allow himself to treat them any different. They would dislike that intensely, and he didn't think that he could think of a reason to cause any rift between them.
Still, he was pleased that he was not on the floor where a pair of catgirls had knocked over O'Neill and their Japanese helper in one single leap. Not only that, but they worked together, and the women would be embarrassed by what they'd done. Nor did he wish to join in with the snuggle that the local girl was aiming for.
"Hi, Carter."
"Hello sir. And sorry for knocking you down," she replied.
"Ah, don't worry. I've got to get used to it, you know.
"Then what are your orders, sir?"
"I see.... well.... This place is weird. The way that I figure it, well be here forever."
"Oohh!" Kasumi murmured as she lifted her head from Daniel's shoulder, but let go of the arm she'd looped. "(I've got an idea.)"
"Flying is good. Getting into trouble with you? Someone to help fight."
"(Maybe I can help. Why don't you come with me?)"
"Pardon me?"
"(I can give you food to give you your strength back. Perhaps a nice cup of tea would help. And if you need to sleep, I cab fit you in just fine.)"
"Hmmm... I'll take it under advisement."
"(Okay. But Doctor Jackson? We can go, and you might even get to see my father.)"
"(Your father?)" Daniel parroted.
"Exactly," the eldest Tendo daughter replied, while:
