SG-7 was a scientific team, placed offworld to study things like ancient ruins. It was meant to be out there for a long period of time and so it was prepared for when access to the Stargate was restricted.
The overwhelming majority of personnel for the group were male and in one of the American military branches. The scientific teams were a little different, as there was a larger civilian presence within such groups.
There were a few women though who had not been infected and were offworld, and looking at the reports with a certain amount of trepidation or disbelief.
Focussing on something besides the reports from back home became a measure of relief from worrying about things that couldn't be affected anyway.
Kathryn pointed at something moving along the hill. "What the heck is THAT?!"
"The biologists call it a 'quasi-mammal' because it has mammallian and reptilian characteristics," said Lucy.
"That's pretty big," remarked Kathryn.
"Half the size of an African elephant, about the same mass though," pointed out Lucy. "Herbivore, slow moving, relies on its size and armor to discourage predators."
"If it's that big, I don't want to meet the predators," said Kathryn.
"We're still looking for those," said Lucy, shrugging.
When one considered the new diversity in humanity, one might consider a number of new terms.
In a truly strange, some might even say bizarre, development - Doctor Moreau's original motivation was being softly derailed. Many of those whom he thought would be going through a personal nightmare as "pure" bloodlines mutated simply took the changes in stride and began touting the benefits of one or another of the new breeds and looked down upon other breeds.
There were, however, exceptions. Some of which might have surprised people familiar with the individuals.
Ranma Saotome, for example. He wasn't so much upset with the change in anything resembling a "pure bloodline" kind of thing. He was more upset with some of the results. Especially with certain girls who now had decided that he was the "special one" just for them.
On the other hand, there was Soun Tendo. Who DID apparently have some issues with the whole "racial purity" and "samurai bloodlines" thing going. So when his three daughters had changed, Soun had become fairly upset about the whole thing.
