"That's good thinking, Ranma-kun," Kasumi said in an approving tone. "The bath is ready if you want to wash up first."
Nodding absently, Ranma checked to make sure the furo was not only ready, but empty. After a quick rinse, he cracked his jaw in a fierce yawn, and made his way up the stairs. As he reached the top, he threw himself at the ceiling and clung there for a breathless moment, while Akane emerged from her room, and headed downstairs.
Once his fiancee-- Former fiancee, he reminded himself forcefully. Hotaru-chan's protection was the priority here, and he didn't think he'd want to bring her on a honeymoon anyway. Once Akane was gone from sight, he dropped to the floor and scurried noiselessly to his room.
Downstairs he could faintly hear his father's rumbling voice, too weakly to make out his words. Probably something about the game he and Tendo were occupied in. Nabiki would be watching television, and Akane wouldn't bother him once Kasumi told her he was asleep. That left ... Hotaru, and she was asleep.
Satisfied that he wouldn't be disturbed, he pulled his ID, his 'datacube', and his cellular phone from his pocket, setting them on the floor to examine them more closely. Now. Which first?
