Nabiki didn't have any idea what the numbers were, but a trio of elderly men and a single young man emerged from a nearby house, split into pairs pushing two cloth-covered gurneys slammed the deduction home in her mind. The quartet paused at seeing her, then shrugged, loading their grim cargo into waiting ambulances.

"Wait!" Nabiki called, starting to run towards them as they packed up. "What's going on?"

The young man got into the drivers seat, one of the elderly men pausing to look back at her. "Lotsa work to do," he said apologetically. "Those what could still make young'ns all went crazy, so it seems. Up to us old folks to put things back together."

Nabiki immediately thought of the young man in the ambulance. "But what about--"

"He were sterile 'fore it started," the elder said quietly. "We figger that's what's 'behind if'n it works or not." He shrugged. "Luck to ya, Missy."

And with that they were off. Nabiki shuddered at the sight of another ambulance in the distance, being loaded up the same way. Casting about for a distraction, she spotted a nearby restaurant. Ah! Ukyou -- SHE would know where to find Ranma, right?

Scurrying across the street, she made her way to the door.
