Scarlet Djinn: Change of address [Episode 14736]

by Kestral

Akane realized immediately that whoever held her lamp, she had to obey. Wishes were something else altogether - anyone who held the lamp and made a wish, she'd have to grant the first wish they made. They'd only get one Wish though.

What she was seeing was very distracting however.

She could see the shades of light and darkness in everyone's soul, the magic of the various curses (PLURAL?!) afflicting Genma but particularly Ranma, the faint echoes of her mother's spirit through her house, the pulse of lines of force through the earth and air. It was as if she was herself, but so much more in addition!

As her attention focussed on someone or something, her magic gave her details on it and her mind interpreted it as scrolling fields of data.

Hmmm. Kasumi had the beginnings of the same cancer that had killed their mother. If something wasn't done, Kasumi would die in another... three years?!

All this was very distracting but Akane realized that if Happosai or Kuno got ahold of her lamp... it would not be a good thing. Ranma had still not been granted a wish, so he could free her...

...and take her place in the lamp as the lamp had to have a genie.

Akane realized everyone was still waiting for her to finish what she had been saying. Quick. I may be stuck as a genie but I can only grant one wish, and I really don't want Happosai finding me, so you need to make this wish." Then she leaned close to Ranma and whispered in his ear.

Ranma nodded, though he looked somewhat dazed, and repeated the wording Akane had suggested.
