"Hmmmph?!" he asked, still trying to fit things together. Slowly he moved his head against the gentle pressure. Oh, that's all. Some gal was holding onto him and his face had been against her... oh. Maybe this wasn't going to be so okay after all.
Genma checked his blueprint, then examined the town below, then checked the supplies it had taken hours for him to transport.
"Genma, you are a genius," proclaimed Genma to himself.
The plan was simple. He had several barrels of the explosives from that century-old site. He had several feet of twine, the Acme Rocket Skates™ and he had the large sack. Roll explosives downhill, boom at the wall, use the Rocket Skates to shoot through their defenses, grab Ranma, back to Japan before anything else went wrong.
Smiling at his cleverness, Genma kicked away the small stone propping the barrels into place.
The rock skittered away, the only movement for some time on the hilltop.
Genma looked at the rock, at the explosives, and his smile slowly faded away.
Grumbling slightly, the portly practicioner of Anything Goes tried shoving on one of the barrels.
When that didn't work, he looked around and quickly discovered that the weight of the barrels had caused them to sink slightly into the ground. Now he'd have to shift them up and out of the imprint in order to get them moving.
Now that he knew, Genma went around to the back of the pile and threw his weight against them. A slight shift, but nothing happened. He dug his feet into the ground and shoved as hard as he could. The soft ground gave way and Genma spent a moment suspended in midair blinking wildly before gravity took hold.
THWAM!
Drumming his fingers briefly against the ground, Genma frowned in thought. After briefly considering, he ran off only to return with a long stout branch. He pried against the bottom barrel of the pyramid briefly at the side away from the village. When that didn't work, he tried the side facing the village.
When that didn't work, he stood atop the pyramid and jumped up and down.
The ground shifted ever so slightly. The barrels began moving en masse.
Unfortunately, Genma started trying to run away from the village back towards the hillside, which had the effect of speeding up the barrel he was running on.
BOOM!
Genma, slightly blackened and smoking, raised his head slowly up from the impact crater, only to get an excellent view of the remainder of the barrels arriving.
BOOOM-BOOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!
Lying there in the ruins of a section of wall, hearing the villagers calling out to each other to find out what had occurred, Genma twitched and attempted to get up, clicking his heels against the broken pavement as he did.
CLIK! FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Which, he belatedly remembered, was how one turned on the Rocket Skates.
"AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
The villagers looked up as something streaked up from the village and exploded way high above.
"TAMAYA!" shouted several Japanese tourists as the little flower of red and gold drifted apart.
An hour later, an ash-covered Genma walked up, tore his blueprint into tiny little pieces, then jumped up and down on them for having failed him.
CLIK! FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Unfortunately, the Rocket Skates hadn't quite run out of fuel.
Dita stalked her prey. Getting ever closer. Closer. Closer. She could see him now. "WHAT?!"
Meia's eyes shot wide at the shout. Meia realized she was holding someone. A moment passed before she realized who and how and what was going on.
ZOOM! ZOOM!
Dita looked back and forth as now Meia and Mister Outsider were at opposite sides of the room. The plate of food on the tray she'd brought clinked as she shifted around uncertainly. "Uhm..."
