"Oh, hi, Nabiki," Makoto said with an easy smile as she balance the receiver on her shoulder.
Usagi bit her lip as she hoped that her feeling meant that there was good news coming.
"So, tell me what it is."
The blonde knew that it would be rude to try to find some way to listen in on the conversation, but felt the urge to do so anyway.
"What about him?"
That got a blink from the girl with the odd hair style.
"He's going to be where?" the tall girl whispered, the dish towel that she'd been holding dropping unnoticed by her to the floor.
A girl didn't have to transform into Senshi form to conclude that this was a major thing.
"His dad and your dad?"
On the other hand, that sounded rather... worrisome.
"I see. But he's going to be there."
It sounded like her friend had a bit of hope in her voice, which Usagi took to be a good sign.
"Thank you. I needed to know that. I just... It's been so long."
Somehow, the reincarnated princess was certain that she knew what this was about.
"Thanks for your concern, and for your help. Talk to you soon."
By then, all the other girls had stopped working with the ingredients, and were watching their friend on the phone with every bit of attention they had.
"'Bye," Makoto said quietly, and hung up the phone.
"Well, what was it?" Minako asked, leaning forward in anticipation.
"Minako!" Rei admonished.
"I just want to know...."
Ami gave a helpless shrug. "We do have concerns about our friends, and it sounds important."
"It isn't bad, is it?"
"No," the emerald eyed girl replied. "It'd definitely not bad."
Taking her tall friend's hands in hers, Usagi gave her a comforting look. "Mako-chan? What is it?"
"Ranma's coming back to Tokyo. My husband's going to be here again," Makoto whispered in trembling voice, with a small smile, and tears of happiness in her eyes.
Broad grins showed up on the other girls' faces as the news sank in, while:
