"I know. I mean, he's been out there for so long, and he's all that I've got...." Makoto trailed off.
"You've had us."
"I didn't mean it that way. It's just that we can be together now, like a married couple should be. He and I can spend time together, make this our home, and.... maybe.... start a family...."
The other girls blushed hard right along side her, but Ami managed to work to get her voice calm enough to advise her friend. "You might want to speak with my mother before that, what with all the health issues in it."
"That'd be good, if I could...."
"I'll talk to her, if you want."
"Thank you for your offer."
"But have you two talked about having a family?" Rei asked with a bemused tone threaded through her words. "I mean, he's part of it too. Of course, you'll also have to.... you know...."
"That won't be a problem," the emerald eyed girl replied.
"Really?" Minako asked, leaning forward with an expectant look on her face.
"Well.... um.... that is...."
Watching Makoto flush and uncharacteristically stumble over her words, Usagi decided to bail her friend out. "They're married, so they can do... that all they want. She doesn't have to tell us, if she doesn't want to. Besides, part of getting married is to start a family."
"That's true. Ranma and I do want to have kids someday. Both of us weren't really popular as kids, so.... We want a home with a lot of love."
"Exactly what Mamo-chan and I plan on having."
"But you already know that you'll have a kid," the shrine priestess reminded her.
The other blonde nodded in a stern way that belied her cheerful nature. "And that's not the worst thing about having him come back."
"You actually think that him coming back can be the 'worst'?"
"In a way."
"How?"
"Because I don't have a boyfriend yet!" Minako whined, pouting slightly. "I wanted to have one before he came back."
"Well, maybe if you tried very hard, you could get one at the last minute."
"Very funny. But I wanted to be a part of the group that was part of a couple. Then, we'd have almost all of us be like that."
"I suppose that most would be better than only a part," Ami sighed, seemingly accepting that she wouldn't be joining that group.
"Come on, Ami-chan. You're just a little shy. You'd find a boyfriend really quick."
"You can't...."
"Sure, I can think of it that way. Easy as pie."
Rei gave the blonde with the bow in her hair a flat look. "Are you forgetting that I wouldn't be counted among that 'group' of yours?"
"Well...."
"Hmmm?"
"Not really...."
"Minako!"
Usagi waved her hands between the Senshi of Mars and Venus in an attempt to wave off any sort of conflict. "Come on guys. This is Mako-chan's time."
"You're right about that."
"I am? Oh, right, I am. But hey, maybe Ranma might know guys that you two might like."
"You're right! He is a studly martial artist, and where he's come from, there's got to be more!" Minako chirped.
Makoto smiled at her friend's renewed cheer, but shook her head. "I just want my husband, not a lot of guys like him."
"Oh, you can have him. I'll take the available ones."
"Mina-chan...."
"What?"
"At least she's happy."
"And you should be too. Soon, you'll be greeting your husband after all the days since you've partied."
"That's 'parted', Mina-chan," Ami sighed, but quickly perked up. "Though that does sound like a good idea."
"It does?"
"Certainly. What better way to celebrate the return of our friend, and Makoto's husband? We can have a 'welcome home' party."
"That's a great idea! And after we're done with it, we can leave the two of them together for some time alone."
"It's a great idea," the reincarnated princess commented, with a nod. "What do you think, Mako-chan?"
"It's.... wonderful. Thank you," said girl replied, with a misty little smile.
"Don't worry about it. That's what friends are for."
"And I have the best friends that a girl could want."
"That's something that you shouldn't forget," Usagi answered mock seriously, and the girls all broke down in happy giggles, while:
