Setting the suitcase with Ed’s traveling supplies down, Al didn’t need any as he was just a moving suit of armor, the taller but younger brother turned to the shorter but older one. “I’m sure Brianna will be here brother,” Alphonse said. “There are still a couple of minutes before the train leaves. Maybe she got here earlier than us and decided to get on board already.”
Ed shook his head at his little brother’s comment. The kid still had a lot to learn about girls, the fact that they were always the ones to make the guy wait on them being the main one. “Yeah right Al, I said train platform, not train.” If they went on without her and left the woman behind then he’d never hear the end of it from either of his traveling companions. “But maybe we should go on ahead. If we find the philosopher’s stone this time then we can just go home and finally get away from that know-it-all.”
Al shook his head at his older brother’s attitude. He knew that Ed had missed his student/friend/unofficial older sister this past week they had been looking around the central library. Once too often the Fullmetal Alchemist had told his apprentice to get a book off the shelf too high for him to reach when she wasn't there, or made some other everyday comment that involved Brianna in some way.
Taking his mind off the past, Al got back to looking around the platform for the woman the two brother’s were waiting for. A tall form moving through the crowd with one of those newspaper boy hats on her head was the only clue he needed. “I think I see her brother.”
“Where?” Ed asked as he looked around, seeing only the shoulders of the crowd standing around them. When the call for boarding came out, the smaller Elric found himself shoved aside as men and women started to get onto the train. “Hey, HEY! It’s called walking arou-OW THAT WAS MY FOOT!”
“Well it’s good to see you’re as short tempered as ever,” Brianna said from behind Edward.
The Fullmetal Alchemist spun around with the intent of chewing his apprentice out about the whole height thing, as well as making him weight all this time, AND the other crack about his temper; THAT WAS PERFECTLY FINE! But when Ed looked at the woman standing in front of him, he came to an abrupt halt. However, thanks to the fact that he had been around Brianna for a little over a month while teaching her alchemy, this was not due to the fact that he was almost sixteen years old and on eye level with her chest. “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WEARING?” It was due to the fact that the outfit she had on was so tight it looked like part of the girl’s skin.
Brianna blinked and looked down at herself. She really didn’t see the reason for Edward’s reaction. The suit she had on was one of her usual skintight full body outfits. It was completely black in color with the same symbol Alphonse and Ed had on her right shoulder and modeled after the ones she wore to Jade when that whole Arms Tournament mess was going on, with a few modifications added in. Like the other’s before it could stand up to small arms fire without it punching a hole in the suit, although the impact damage was still a problem, with alchemic symbols put on certain areas; basic alchemic circles on the palms and transmutation circles specifically dealing with wood and earth on differing soles. “What?”
Alphonse studied the suit her friend was wearing and found something that had been bothering him about the thing she was wearing. “Brianna, where’s the zipper? How did you get this thing on?”
“Transmuted it that way,” she explained after a moment.
“AND WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE?” Edward demanded after snatching one of the pistols that was hanging from a holster on Brianna’s waist. Although not a firearms expert, Ed noticed that the one in his hands was a bit different than the kind he’s seen Mustang’s Lt. wield from time to time. Although the same basic design, the barrel was a few inches longer, and where alchemic symbols attuned to fire and electricity on opposite sides of the grip with another one for metal on the back and near the bottom. At least that’s what he thought it was, the third circle was pretty small.
Brianna quickly reached down and snatched her pistol away from Edward with her cheetah reflexes. “Little boy’s shouldn’t play with guns,” she mumbled sourly. Although she figured Ed would act like this, no hello, nice to see ya, or anything like that, it still put her in a grumpy mood.
“I didn’t teach you alchemy so you could kill people!” Edward shouted in anger. The boy’s fists clenched as he almost used the same tactic that his teacher had for disciplining students. Using alchemy for murder was one of Edward’s personal peeves, he had always side stepped the issue himself when getting into fights by just using alchemy to make weapons for himself or attacks that he was pretty sure someone could dodge instead of using it like he saw Mustang do once and nearly blow a guy up.
“HEY” Brianna yelled before bending down to get right in Edward’s face. “If I wanted to have lethal weapons then do you actually think I would have taken weeks of designing them in my head before I finally put them on paper and developed the things? Although, I DO suppose I could use them that way, and pretty easily actually.”
Edward blinked and Brianna’s answer, and in the moment of confusion found something else to be angry about. “Wait a second… YOU SPENT ONE MILLION DOLLARS ON A PAIR OF GUNS?” The much smaller alchemist fumed at his apprentice so much that she straitened back up and back away a little.
“Don’t be silly Edward,” Brianna said with a nervous laugh before reaching down for something that was lying on the ground beside the train platform and out of Edward’s field of vision. When he saw what she was hauling up was a suitcase that was larger than him, Ed knew it wasn’t going to be good. “Well when I got done with these, and a few other knick knacks that use alchemy, I went shopping for some new clothes. I mean, the fashions here aren’t that great, but at least I can transmute the cloth into something stylish.”
“GONNA KILL YOU!”
Alphonse sighed and wrapped his arms around his older brother to prevent the murder of their friend. And I actually thought I missed this, the suit of armor thought to himself while his brother demanded to be let go and reached out to strangle Brianna.
