"Akane, your finger," A pale Ranma managed to croak out of his suddenly dry mouth as he pointed at his fiancee's hand.
"What about-AGHHHHHH!!!"
She was wearing the Ring again. The metal seemed to gleam with malice as they all stared at it.
"But! It was-over there, I threw it away! I know I did!!"
Cologne closed her eyes and sighed, feeling every one of her many years at that moment. She didn't particularly like the Tendo girl and recent events had not done anything to change her point of view, but this was not something she would have wished on her worst enemy.
"You can not simply throw it away, Child. The moment you invoked its power, you became the Ring's Bearer. It will not leave you now until it has devoured every last trace of your existence and all that remains is a withered burned out husk."
"No! There has to be a way to get it off!!"
Akane started to claw frantically at the cursed gold surrounding her finger, this time pulling the Ring off and then hurling as far out the room's window as she could, watching with hope in her heart as it disappeared into the horizon.
"See! It's gone, I-AAAIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEE!!!"
To call what then wracked her body something so mundane as mere Pain was to understate the sensations by several thousand orders of magnitude.
Had she been given the choice at that moment, Akane would have chosen a simple death without second thought just to end her suffering. Every molecule of her very being seemed to be screaming as she felt the very fabric of her identity being torn asunder from a thousand thousand points of Fire and Ice. It was not so much a 'Rape' of her Soul as it was a 'Sadistic butchery and devouring the choice bits while it was still alive and lying there with no mouth but an endless scream trapped within it'.
When it finally ended, Akane's awareness of the world returned to find herself curled up in a fetal position on the floor, the burning taste of vomit and iron blood thick in her mouth.
"I don't want to die," She whimpered like a puppy who'd had its forelegs crushed slowly under the uncaring wheels of a Sports Utility Vehicle.
"Sis, what's happening to you?! You're turning... OLD."
Nausea swept aside the last flickering traces of anger from Nabiki's mind. She wanted Akane punished for killing all the men in the world, but not like this. Dear Gods, not like this.
The once luxurious short hair that her little sister had taken such pride in, that the boys at school had used to obsess over... was growing out at a incredible pace and turning lanky and grey before her horrified eyes. The smooth skin in the first blushes of youth was cracking and scaling, liver-spots and wrinkles competing with each other in a race to see which could dominate the most area.
"The Ring is feeding."
Even the Amazon Elder's voice had a shaken note in it. The sight was just as obscene now as it had been when she'd first witnessed the sight on another victim so many decades ago.
"You have to take it off of her!"
"There is only one way to remove the Ring from her short of Death."
"So spit it out already! Can't you see what its doing to her!"
"Someone must
There was a long dead silence.
"I thought so."
