Anyways, let's go to the Duelist Arena now. I don't want to be too late for my examination.
Good plan. You head out of the park and within twenty minutes, you arrive at your destination. In front of you is a Kaiba electronic dueling facility that is closed to the public for the duel exams. Inside the first large building, there are several smaller areas for duel exams to take place. The main dueling arena has its own entrance and looks like a little stadium with spectator seats and everything. You still have about half an hour before your duel exam.
I suppose I can go and meet some fellow applicants. Maybe make a few good impressions so that my social status is in good shape when I go to the Academy. Let's see if there's anything going on in the main arena.
You head over and see a duel starting to take place between a young male with brown hair and a strange looking man with blonde hair and blue clothing. The blonde man is Chronos De Mediz, the dorm leader of Obelisk Blue and he is facing Yuki Judai, the male lead of the Yu-Gi-Oh GX TV show. There are several spectators in the audience seats. They seem to be all focused on the upcoming duel.
Will the duel wrap up in time for my exam?
I can't say for sure. I can keep you around until it's about five minutes to your exam. You don't have to walk too far to the administration desk from where you are right now.
Well, let's skip the duel and see who won.
The victor turns out to be Yuki Judai. Thanks to his Skyscraper field magic card powering up his E-Hero Flame Wingman, he overpowered the professor's Antique Gear Golem. The fusion monster was able to attack right away after being summoned just like in the real trading card game. Flame Wingman's ability caused Professor Chronos to lose life points equal to his Antique Gear Golem's attack points which happen to be 3000. You can see astonished looks on the faces of several spectators while Yuki jumps up in victory.
Should be an interesting challenge when I get to duel Yuki. How much time before my exam?
About eight minutes.
Okay. First, head to the administration desk. When I'm there, confirm my duel appointment and then save the game.
You walk to the desk and double check the time of your exam with the administrator. She informs you that you will be dueling against Amy. After finishing that minor business, the clock tells you that your exam is in four minutes.
Saving game... done.
Since I got some time, I want to open my booster pack and see what cards I was able to obtain.
[You have removed booster pack from your inventory]
Cards contained within booster pack...
Cemetery Bomb (Normal Trap). Inflict 100 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points for each card in his/her graveyard.
Trap Hole (Normal Trap). Whenever your opponent Normal Summons or Flip Summons a monster with an attack of 1000 points or more, destroy the monster.
Birdface (4/1600/1600). When this monster is sent to the graveyard as a result of battle, you can add 1 "Harpie Lady" from your deck to your hand.
Heavy Mech Support Platform (3/500/500). Union monster. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, if you control this monster on the field, you can equip it to a face up Machine-type monster on your side field as an Equip Magic card OR unequip the Union Equipment and Special Summon this card in face up Attack Mode. When equipped to a monster by this card's effect, that monster's ATK/DEF go up by 500 points. A monster can only be equipped with one Union monster at a time. If the monster card that this card is equipped to is destroyed, this card is destroyed in its place.
Des Lacooda (3/500/600). You can flip this card into face down Defense Mode once per turn during your Main Phase. When this card is Flip Summoned, draw 1 card from your deck.
Abare Ushioni (4/1200/1200). Toss a coin and call it. If you are right, inflict 1000 points of damage to your opponent's LP. If you are wrong, you take 1000 points of damage. This ability can only be used once a turn during your Main Phase.
Mefist the Infernal General (5/1800/1700). When this card attacks with an ATK higher than the DEF of your opponent's Defense Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's LP. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's LP, select a card at random from your opponent's hand and discard it.
Shield Wall (Instant Magic). Special Summon 4 [Shield Token] (Rock/Earth/1/ATK 1000/DEF 1000) to your Field in defense mode. These tokens can't attack. If such a token is changed to attack mode, it's destroyed. They cannot be sacrificed to summon.
Summon Dice (Normal Magic). Pay 1000 Life Points and roll a die. If the roll is 1 or 2, you can do 2 Normal Summons this turn. If the roll is 3 or 4, you can Special Summon 1 Monster from your Graveyard. If the roll is 5 or 6, you can Normal Summon a high level monster from your hand without a sacrifice.
Red Eyes Transmigration (Ritual Magic). Needed to summon a [Lord of the Red]. You must sacrifice a [Red Eyes Black Dragon] and a Warrior sub-type Monster from your hand and/or your side of the Field.
[The above cards are now in your card trunk].
Maybe I can make some last minute changes to my deck. Some of those new cards actually look decent.
