On the other hand, he'd grown very sick of the routine that he'd been in, as such things took a long time to go through.
Once he was up and about, it got to be worse, since he was not one to just hang around. Even when he stayed where he and his father were camping, he'd been doing something like practicing, or working out. And with his new career choice, there was a lot that he wanted to do.
However, he found himself actually unable to get going as he looked at the official who'd come to see him.
"Ya wanna do what?" he asked with a blink of surprise.
"Give you your own marionette," the older man replied, and then shrugged. "Well, we've already done so, as we have set you as her owner."
"Wow.... But...."
"Yes?"
"Why?"
"Think of her as a gift to a visitor. We think that she would be of use to you, and as such, thought that you should have her."
"How would she be useful ta me?"
"Simple. She is a marionette, and as such, there are basic work that she can do. It's our opinion that you could use her to help you in work that would cause you situations that would be bothers to you," the official replied.
"And now can ya say that in somethin' that a normal person'd understand?"
"There are things that you can't or don't want to do, and she can help you in that. Plus, she has systems that you could use to help yourself when you need it."
"Oh.... I see...."
"Then will you accept the present from us to you?"
Ranma scratched his head and tried to figure out what he should do. If he refused the gift, it'd offend guys who might be important. And he actually could understand some of the reasoning for having a robot anything, since this marionette could help him find stuff to helping him build a home when he'd get a place. As a result, there was only one thing that he could really say. "Uhh... sure?"
"Good. Then all that's left is to introduce you to your new marionette. Bring her in."
From outside the room, someone came in with what looked like a girl, and a pretty one at that. However, there were the tell tale signs of what she really was, and he'd learned a few of them. Many guys from his time would have been very pleased to own a robot girl who looked like this. Yet none of that mattered to Ranma, as he stood stock sill and simply stared at the marionette that he was being given.
After all, he had never expected to ever see even a replica of:
