Her daughters were half-Daxamite and were weakened by the poisonous metal, but able to function more or less normally. Naturally their house was free of lead and lead compounds, and they had a pretty good water filtration system to deal with any lead that might have been present there.
The results of this were many. The three daughters couldn't eat out at a lot of places, which was referred to as a "food allergy" to most everyone who knew of them.
Otherwise they passed as human to everyone who knew the three daughters with a few exceptions. Doctor Tofu knew and a few others did as well - those who might reasonably be expected to need the information had it.
They didn't have the level of overreaction to the substance that a true Daxamite had, and they also didn't have the raw power of a Daxamite.
