"Rei! Why don't you join us?" called out Usagi.
Rei smiled at the other pokegirl. "Because water doesn't go with fire types."
Or one could simply find them taking advantage of a nearby body of water to splash, play and cool off on a hot and humid day. So, it wasn't hard to see why they were standing knee deep in the water, and having fun. They were still children after all, and no matter their future needs, or current powers, they were kids in need of a little recreation.
"That's really too bad..." Makoto sighed. "The water feels great...."
"Unfortunately, it's not so easy for me," Rei replied.
"Well that smells," Minako grumped.
"You're a cat type, you know."
"I know, but I still look cute at the water!"
"What are you going to do then?" Usagi asked.
"I'll just lay here and relax, watching you guys," the Firebrand replied.
"Is that so?" Setsuna murmured as she shared a mischievous look with another of the group.
Michiru smiled back, and sent a shot of water out at the reclining fire type.
"GAH!" Rei growled. "You guys!"
Ranma laughed along with the girls before a shadow blocked the sunlight that'd been shining on him. He looked up and saw two strange men who were gazing back at him. "Hi...."
"Hello," said one of the men. "You're Ranma Saotome, right?"
"Yeah...."
"Well, we'd like you to come with us."
"Why?"
The other man fixed him with a flat stare. "Your father has given us permission to take you with us for something important."
"He did?" Ami asked with a frown.
"Yes, he did. And now, you can come with us."
Haruka snorted at the idea. "Yeah, right! We know better than to go with people we don't know!"
"But this gives us permission to take you where we are going," the first man said, holding up a sheaf of papers.
"You could've put anything you wanted on that!"
"You know, you really should come with us."
"Why's that?"
"It'd be less trouble than having to make you," the second man answered.
The children got into fighting positions, and each looked around for any possible threats, while:
