The result wasn't exactly helpful. He'd seen this in school, in a Chemistry text. Lots of hexagons and tags and little snippets of Romanesque lettering. Even if he spoke some English, this wasn't anywhere near what he was familiar with or could work out.

"Dang it. How can I make this give me a simple answer?!" demanded Ranma, wanting to hit something.

Nobody answered him, and after a few moments Ranma got ahold of himself again. Maybe if he did this and so. No, that didn't work. It looked like Egyptian hieroglyphs now. Maybe this here - that took him back to the Chem Club stuff, then he could try this and there and-

Simple Language Text (Children's version)

Ranma smiled, pleased. THIS he could understand. The smile faded as he determined that the "corruptive agent" was:

• something like a superadaptive virus combining something called a "stem cell" and a virus carrier that had been intended to replicate the stem thingie. Instead it became a deadly plague that has wiped out most of his species. Ranma realizes that the cold he had two days ago might have been the only thing protecting him.
• some kind of virus thingie released by some gaijin company in a place called Raccoon City that then swept the world, converting people to cannibalistic zombies?!
• an alien lifeform that invades planets and converts the native populace into parts of itself. The ship he's on is one built by a race/individual opposing that lifeform.
• an alien lifeform that converts planets into pleasure palaces for a decadent race of sensualists. He's on the ship that has been converting his world.
• something else
