Coupled Union - With Wood: Travel Thoughts [Episode 151946]

by Kender

Feeling the rumbling of his belly, Ranma sighed and wondered again about the next time that he would get a chance to eat. It wasn't that he'd been starved, but with the way that the money situation was at the moment, it wasn't like they could just stop in and get a snack. Of course, most of that was due to the fact that his father held onto the purse strings, which meant that most of the purchases had to come through him, and his old man was not only bad with how he used money, but was rather cheap. He didn't want to buy anything if they were going to be getting it free later.

That just made the pigtailed boy wish that he had not been taken out of the high school for this trip. If that had been the case, then he would have been home with his mom, and his wife, both of whom were not only great cooks, but were very kind and nice individuals. They were better company than his old man, who tended to be a jackass a lot of the time.

Thinking about Makoto made him homesick though, and not simply for the food that she could provide. Loving her was one of the best things that he'd ever done in his life, and he could actually see how it had benefitted her. Just having his mother take his wife under wing was great to see, since it gave Makoto something of the feeling that her own mother would have given her. They got along great, and it was clear that he hadn't hurt her life when he'd asked her to marry him.

Of course, he'd always been unable to understand why someone else hadn't snatched her up long before he'd come along. Sure, she was tall, strong, and skilled, but those were things that were good in his book. Then again, he couldn't understand why the other guys didn't simply look at her as an attractive girl, considering the fact that a lot of the porn magazines that they drooled over tended to have girls with big chests, long legs, and great smiles, all of which his wife had. Not that he was going to share that now, as a part of him was glad that they hadn't noticed her charms, since they would never give her the respect that she would deserve.

Smiling, he remembered meeting her at a party at the school. Other than her friends, she hadn't had any real attention given to her, and being a bit unused to such events, he went over to see about talking to her. That turned out to be a great idea, since he'd found that she was a great girl. She liked the Art, was open, friendly, and willing to accept him for who he was. It didn't cause her any trouble to know that he wasn't the usual sort of boy, and they'd actually found a lot to share. They continued to talk after the party had ended, and immediately knew that they would hang out together.

Becoming boyfriend and girlfriend just sort of happened, as they never needed to consciously direct things in that direction. She simply started making him bentos for his lunch, each of which he immensely enjoyed, and he started giving her pointers in the Art. Spending time together seemed to be natural and right, so they just went along with it. When he started discovering that he cared about what she felt, needed to be with her, and wanted to make her life better, he knew that this was not some simple crush or friendship.

And after he found out that she felt the same way, their relationship took on a new tone. It was a time of discovery, and of learning what it was like to be in love. His mother had been extremely pleased by that development, Makoto's friends had been all for it, and the Tendo sisters had been happy that it was working out for the couple.

When he'd married her, he hadn't seen the 'rough delinquent' that her reputation had claimed that she was, but saw her as the beautiful girl that he couldn't live without.

Leaving her for the trip had been hard, and now that he was back, he really wanted to get back to her. Unfortunately, his old man had other plans.

"Pop?" Ranma grumbled. "Why can't we go home first?"

"I told you already, boy! We have things to do!" Genma replied.

"Yeah, you said about visitin' your friend. But goin' home would let us get cleaned up, fed, and get Mom."

"Why would that be important?"

Scowling, the pigtailed boy glared at his father. "Other than lettin' her know that we're safe, or allowin' her ta be there for a 'matter of family honor', which is what you called it?"

"Well...."

"What?"

"It's not something that she should have to worry about. So long as we take care of the business at Tendo's home, she shouldn't be angry," his father insisted.

"That's what ya think."

"What was that?"

"Nothin'."

"In any case, we're going to visit my old friend, Soun Tendo, and that's final. You're going to meet his daughters, and fulfill the promise."

Despite really wanting to, Ranma stopped himself from smirking. His old man didn't know that he had already met the three Tendo sisters, and that they were friends of his and his wife. It was going to be interesting to see how they handled what was about to happen. Of course, it would be good to see them anyway, as he liked them, and Kasumi was one of the best cooks that he knew.

That was at least a good part of all this, while:
