But there were just so many children around there, with each one causing some sort of problem for him. With so many of them milling around, he was certain that he'd miss his boy if he wasn't careful. As it was, they could be blocking his view, or interrupting his hearing, and that would mean that he could lose an opportunity to find his boy, which would delay things even more than they already had been. So, he'd stood tall, and tried to look around at all the students, even taking particular attention to look for his son's girl side, since that would be an unusual sight.
That got him rather concerned looks, which made him feel like he was being seen as being similar to his dread Master more and more with every girl that passed by.
As a result, he crouched in the bushes and waited. All he had to do was wait, and his son would come around sooner or later. The plants would block the students and the boy from seeing him. Then he could leap out, catch his son unawares, and be gone before any trouble could really start.
Of course, he never really considered the fact that the knowledge that there was a middle aged man wearing only a gi hiding in the bushes would be seen as something to be wary of by the students, who had seen him go in there.
Ryoga was not about to let any stone go unturned, and no information left unfound. That thieving jerk had to be punished, and he was the man for the job. Heck, Saotome had some sort of thing going on with young girls, and that could not be forgiven at all. If nothing else, he had to be pounded for that alone, and there would be no question of his part in this.
In order to make certain that would be the case, Ryoga was ready to turn the entire school upside down. Considering the fact that he was looping around in the school yard and building, without any ability to find the way out, he was pretty much doing that already. Students were constantly having to jump out of his way as he barrelled around the corridors and paths.
No matter what he had to do, he was going to find Ranma to give him what he deserved.
If there was nothing else that Ranma had learned to do, it was to listen to his gut. That had saved him on more than one occasion, and he hoped that it would do so this time. He didn't know what it was, whether it be instinct, him catching clues as he went, some psychic ability, or just dumb luck, but he'd always been able to react how he'd need to. And this case, he was certain that he'd better listen to it.
As he had this weird creeping chill crawling up and down his spine, he knew that it was trouble, while:
