Everything was back to normal. Everything was in its place.
There was Usagi Tsukino, running down the road with a piece of toast in her mouth, late for school.
There was Ami Mizuno, already in school, waiting for the bell to ring so she could put away her book.
There was Rei Hino, getting a love letter from an even younger girl than herself, and reacting flirtatiously.
There was Makoto, staying at a dojo and training heavily in the martial arts.
There was Ranma Saotome, getting into a massive armored four-wheel-drive Nissan Safari that...
Normal?
As Ranma Saotome began to race Haruka Ten'ou through the deserts of Australia in what looked to be a massive competition involving dozens of others, Setsuna Meiou went to scowling and then gave the Gates Of Time a mighty thwack with her Time Key Staff.
Australia did NOT, as far as she knew, have a massive cross-desert race with international participants (there were pennants from at least four countries that she saw) roaring vehicles across the starting line. If there WAS, Haruka would NOT be participating as this was outside Japan and she only applied to races within a day-trip of Tokyo. Even if there was and SHE was, Ranma Saotome would not be participating as this was not...
Oh. It involved martial arts. She could see the pennant on the starting line and those were clearly the kanji for martial arts there. Well, that just made everything peachy hunky-dory, right?
Setsuna Meiou growled at the very concept.
The growl broke off into a startled whine as she realized that Haruka's Mitsubishi Pajero had just opened a hatch and launched mini-missles at Ranma's Safari. Ranma's Safari fired off a shotgun-like blast of ball bearings to block the missiles as he swerved to avoid the remainder of the blast.
...
"What? The? Hell?" asked Sailor Pluto.
Another car swerved near while Haruka was apparently distracted and launched a Port-A-Potty outfitted with rocket engines.
"DAMNIT MOUSSE! WRONG CAR AGAIN!" shouted Haruka as she began swerving and dodging.
"Heh heh," said the owner of the Potty-Launcher as he stuck his head out the window. Setsuna blinked again as it WAS Mousse. "Beware the Death-Duck, Saotome! It's your Elimination Round!"
"I said YOU'RE SHOOTING THE WRONG CAR AGAIN!" yelled Haruka.
Another car zipped by, popping open a turret which swiveled towards Mousse' truck. KA-BLAM!
"I'll get you yet, Saootoommeeeee!" shouted Mousse as all the other trucks passed his truck smouldering wreck.
A panel on Saotome's Safari slid aside and a large sign reading [It's Not My Fault] briefly waved around.
"What the heck IS this?" asked Setsuna finally on seeing-
