It was about ten in the evening when Djibril finished going through the last bits of paperwork regarding supplies and transfer procedures to get the fleet ready to invade the USSA again. He had a relatively simple office in the Lodonia facility with a large desk that had a computer work station, a phone and two bins that act as a place to keep paperwork that needed to be done and paperwork that was done. He had a few pencils and pens lying around on the table. A small fridge, that held nothing but high quality liquor for him to consume after a hard day of work, was a foot away from his desk on the right side. And on his left side was a small basket with some blankets where his black kitten currently slept in. With his work done for now, he got out of his chair and gave a brief stretch before heading to his fridge to fetch himself a well deserved bottle of scotch. As he took out the bottle and a glass for himself, there was a knock on his office door. "Enter."
Dr. Robertson entered the office with a clipboard that had a small stack of papers attached to it. "I do hope I'm not disturbing you."
"Not at all. Is there something you wished to discuss?" Djibril quickly downed his first glass of scotch before pouring himself a second glass. Dr. Robertson approached the desk and sat down opposite of the other man.
"Yes. It's regarding our special prisoner. Ash Gray." At the doctor's mention of Ash. Djibril placed his glass down to pay full attention to the doctor. "We were able to get some interesting information all for the price of 10 million Aado. That's the cost of all the chemicals and truth serums that we had to pump into his bloodstream over the course of the past few months. He's quite a stubborn one."
"Indeed." Djibril briefly recalled that the prisoner had been able to elude his search teams after crashing in Alliance territory back in summer and when they finally found him, it took over fifty men to subdue him. Before he was captured, he had been able to kill twelve soldiers using just a combat knife and a Desert Eagle (with limited ammo). He was transferred to Lodonia just as the Bloody Valentine war entered the final stages with both sides about to unveil their trump cards. "What were you able to get from him?"
Robertson glanced down at his notes. "He's a special officer within ZAFT's military. Black ops you may say. For two months, the PLANTs sent him some new weapons so that he could test them out and report back to them. Over the course of that period, he only got three mobile suits. The suit designated ZGMF - X12, was ZAFT's attempt to duplicate our Strike G-Weapon prototype with various mission packs and such. The second suit is pretty much the same but it's nuclear powered as you can tell by the designation, which is ZGMF - X12A Testament. He said that it came with one unique mission pack which is known as Divine Striker. Then there's the mobile suit that he piloted which is ZGMF - X11A Regenerate which is based off of our Aegis G-Weapon prototype. We have the remnants of that suit in our territory but there's not a lot that we can salvage from it. And here's the kicker... he tested out the weapons at his secret base which has a large laser generator known as GENESIS Alpha."
Djibril choked on his drink and quickly pounded his chest to relieve the pain in his chest. "WHAT?!? There was another GENESIS weapon out there?!?"
"Just calm down and let me explain about GENESIS Alpha. I'm not sure if you're aware but GENESIS was originally designed to deliver energy to the solar sails of interstellar spacecraft to make it possible to explore other solar systems. GENESIS Alpha is the original GENESIS system that fulfilled that intended purpose. When the war broke out, ZAFT considered tweaking GENESIS Alpha to convert it into a weapon but the design of the system only allowed them to do so much and at the end of it all, they had a strong weapon that would only work as a defensive weapon since its firing range wasn't very long. And with GENESIS Alpha in a remote position in space, it would have taken a large effort on ZAFT's part to bring it into the war to use against us and ZAFT wanted to focus their resources elsewhere," said the doctor in a calm tone. "Ash gave us the coordinates for his base and said that the other two mobile suits are still there... assuming that they haven't been found by either Serpent Tail or the Junk Guild."
"How did they get involved?" asked Djibril.
"To put it simply, Ash crossed paths with them and basically, they were the ones who turned his plans upside down. Anyways, I double checked with the ships that we have in space and they reported that there is indeed a large Junk Guild presence at GENESIS Alpha. There's a good possibility that the Junk Guild will work to disarm GENESIS Alpha and ensure that it can never be used as a weapon again after they finish scavenging the laser. You mind if I have a glass of that scotch?"
Djibril pushed the bottle over to Robertson along with a second glass. "Are the coordinates to GENESIS Alpha entered into our information system?"
"I did that just before I came here to give you my report," replied Robertson as he enjoyed the taste of the scotch in his mouth.
Djibril picked up his phone and dialled a number. "Commander Lee? This is Djibril. I want you to send a message to our space forces and have them assemble a force large enough to drive the Junk Guild out of GENESIS Alpha so that we can secure it. The coordinates for GENESIS Alpha are in our information system. Don't ask me questions and just get this done." He quickly hung up before Ian could ask any questions. "So now that we got our information from Mr. Gray, what should we do with him?"
Robertson finished his scotch before placing his glass back on Djibril's desk. "I believe it would be best if we can make him one of our Conditioned Coordinators. His combat experience and skills could be a useful asset."
"Sounds like a plan." Djibril's phone began to ring just as he finished his last sentence. The man sighed in irritation before answering. "What is it?"
On the other end of the phone, it was chaos as an Alliance guard made the call to Djibril. The hallway was covered in debris and smoke and the Lodonia guards posted at the area couldn't make out who was attacking from beyond the smoke. "We have a situation! There's a group of people busting out the special prisoner Ash Gray!! We need additional men here as soon as possible!!" Those were the last words he spoke before one of the intruders tossed a hand grenade at the guards to kill most of them who were in the vicinity of the explosion.
"There'll be more coming. Warren, Heidi... let's move out!!" The trio quickly made their way out of the building with Warren dragging Ash's body with him.
"You sure that this guy won't wake up and start killing us, Zeke?" asked Heidi as she kept an eye out for enemy soldiers.
"Nah. The guy's seriously stoned with all the drugs the Alliance pumped into him. It'll be some time before he's up and running." Zeke spotted their escape vehicle, a military style Jeep, and motioned for his teammates to come over. Warren hopped in the back and placed Ash's body on the seat next to him while Heidi started the vehicle and Zeke hopped in the shotgun seat. "Warren, give us a bit of cover for our escape!!"
"Alright! I've been waiting to use this baby!!" Warren grabbed a few grey components and assembled them together to create a small bazooka. He placed a round just as some Alliance soldiers were coming on to the scene. "Eat this!!"
A spectacular explosion rocked the foundation of the Lodonia facility as several Alliance soldiers met their end. Heidi let out a sigh of relief as she put further distance between them and the facility. "Well, that was fun. So where are we gonna get a ride to space? Carpentaria's not an option anymore..."
"We'll head to the Giga Float and arrange for transport. You can say that we need to get to a PLANT to give treatment for our companion for his strange illness. With those extra reptile like eyes on his forehead, they'll buy the story without a problem," said Zeke with a small grin.
"I wonder why the big guys wanted us to bust him out of there?" murmured Heidi.
"They have a use for him. That's all we need to know," said Warren firmly before frowning in disgust as he saw some of Ash's drool fall into his lap.
