OA Conflict Report 25: Dated November 15th C.E.71
”The Kusanagi is finally ready to return to space. After all the last repairs and final checks were completed, the ship was moved to the Giga Float for the launch back into space to rendezvous with the rest of our forces, meager as they may be they’re really all that stands between the Obsidian Abyss’s forces and a full return to war. The Earth Alliance and ZAFT’s forces are both heavily compromised due to the heavy amounts of infiltration the OA had conducted into both organizations. As it is other than Orb, and the Junk Guild our list of allies is very thin.
Thankfully we’ve been able to restore the Kusanagi’s M1 roster to a full set of ten, and with the Gold Frame and Strike Rouge, we’ll have twelve MS at our disposal. To help boost our combat ability each of our MS have been installed with the newest version of Morgenroete’s Compact Battery Reactors which will give them a 25% increase in combat time even for models which us PS-Armor like the Gold Frame and Strike Rouge.
Speaking of the aforementioned MS, or should I say the pilots of the Gold Frame and Rouge, they seem to be getting along famously. My observations of their chemistry and interactions show they have become good friends in the short time Kou has been part of our team. Their friendship has seemed to have grown by leaps and bounds since we came to Orb in ways that make me curious as to what goes on in their private time. I think a contribution to their growing closeness is Cagalli seems to have become Kou’s source of comfort and consolation during some of the more rough times he’d dealt with the two attacks on Orb.
On a side note I’m curious what sort of past he has. He’s told us some things but most I believe are just bits and pieces designed to hide some rather painful memories. Unfortunately due to all of his personal records and data being in Obsidian Abyss hands or falsified or just part of an alias for when he was alone, we know nothing about him other than what he’s told us. I have a hunch Cagalli knows more than we all do at this point but she hasn’t shared it, and I doubt she will as to not violate their trust between them. I do not plan to approach either of them and pry since it’s none of my business but I hope Kou will one day be able to tell us of his own accord instead of being ordered too if his personal data comes into conflict with our objectives or holds vital clues.”
Taking a moment to look away from the computer screen, Erica takes a quick sip of her coffee, letting the taste of the warm brew refresh her senses. Putting the mug back on the warmer on the desk she rubs her brow for a moment before she resumes typing.
”The Kusanagi will be launching within the hour and I pray nothing goes wrong. I plan to keep an eye on our young ace to see what new developments will happen with him, especially since he also seems to have the ‘Seed Factor” Kira, Athrun and Cagalli seem to possess. On a last unrelated note I hope this conflict ends soon so we call can return to more normal lives…if any of us can even do that.”
Meanwhile:
Leaning against one of the railings lining the edge of the Giga Float, Kou Uramecha lets out a loud yawn as he stares across the blue sea into the equally blue horizon. After a rather event filled and hectic time on Earth they were finally returning to space. Despite the fact they would simply be rushing into combat back in space rather than it seeking them out all the time.
For a moment his mind drifted to the last few days from the first surprise attack on Orb, the MS-jacking, and the battle during the hurricane winds, his berserker episodes, and the nights with Cagalli. So much had happened it was almost hard for his mind to keep track with everything, as it was he still couldn’t make heads or tails about Cagalli and him “sleeping” together the last few nights. On that topic he really didn’t look forward to the impending confrontation with Athrun concerning that little factoid.
He had no regrets about what Cagalli and he had done, but he was mostly worried about what the confrontation would do to Cagalli. If Athrun directed any malice in his direction he could handle it, but he was unsure about how Cagalli might handle if it went sour. She could handle herself, but toughness often went out the window in matters like this.
Scratching the back of his head Kou let out a very long sigh as he looked down from the skyline to the water below the Giga Float. On that topic how did he feel about it? He enjoyed having sex with Cagalli, the act was tender and sweet, and vastly more desirable than his previous encounters with Nuunicia Alturnn, his female OA “interrogator” from three years ago when the OA got their hands on him after he had given them the slip for three years.
His cheeks softly flush as he recalled the night after the ceremonial ball; Cagalli had that gorgeous gown on, both were in high spirits after a night of dancing, sneaking themselves a glass or champagne or two, and giving Yuna trouble when he made a pass at Cagalli the night was relaxing and fun compared to the intensity of the last few days. When they retired to their room he recalled how the open balcony door allowed the moonlight to illuminate the room, and with the slight transparency in the color scheme of her gown it seemed to just intensify the whole “Goddess of Battle” image she wore proudly. What started it he wasn’t sure he just recalled staring at her, her smiling and…he didn’t know why but she figured out his birthday was today the 15th and since it was after midnight around the hour he was born she said “happy birthday” and kissed him. At that moment he particularly give a damn how she found out it was his birthday and lost himself to the kiss and the emotions that followed.
Clothing slowly came off, the kisses intensified as they found their way to the bed. The feel of her hot breath against his neck, her hands gently running over his back, the soft sighs and moans she made as he did used hands, lips and tongue to prepare her; the painful yet pleasurable feel of her nails softly digging into his skin as he buried himself in her warmth, her smooth long legs trapping him by clasping around his waist. As they began the movements the rest of the world ceased to exist and the only things that mattered was the woman that was clinging to him, whimpering and moving against him; mirroring the need for him he felt for her. Her face contorted with pleasure as she looked at him with warm, loving eyes; pulling his lips to hers in a hungry kiss as the friction of their body-to-body movements brought them closer to rapture.
The end was signaled by her nails digging red trenches down his back as her legs kept a tight grip around him to prevent escape; a velvet vice cascaded her release and ignited the explosion of his own, their names repeatedly coming from the others mouth as they both collapsed on the bed to cuddle and rest from their activity before sleep claimed them.
Kou quickly shook his head, he let his mind wander again from his current train of thought; yet perhaps this also gave him the clue he needed to understand his stance on the situation. He cared for Cagalli very deeply; he was still unsure if it was some deep form of friendship with “perks”…or that he was falling in love with her. Whatever the reason he felt a connection between them and a desire to protect her more than ever regardless of what the future may hold.
The young Coordinator snaps out of his reverie by a soft pat on his shoulder, causing him to turn his head toward the source. “Hey there, so this is where you disappeared too.” Cagalli smiled at him as she stood behind him; dressed in her usual red t-shirt and olive green fatigue pants.
He returns the smile with a sheepish shrug. “Just felt like looking at the scenery one last time before we go back to endless black and stars.”
Nodding her head in understanding Cagalli moves beside him and leans on the railing to look out across the ocean. “I hope when this is all over we can come back and just enjoy a day of carefree fun with our friends, and I mean truly enjoy the day without worrying about someone dropping in unannounced in a mobile suit to kill us in the back of our minds.”
Kou slowly nodded his head. He knew from experience the Obsidian Abyss would not go down easily; besides the fact they were so secretive getting any location on their true base of operations was impossible, but the bastards also had infiltrated ZAFT, the PLANT government, Blue Cosmos, and the Earth Alliance forces to an extent that in all reality save for the Junk Guild…their list of allies and whom they could trust was very small.
Cagalli blinked her eyes as she felt Kou wrap an arm protectively around her waist suddenly. “Kou-?” She was cut off from asking anything as he gave her a sudden kiss. She blushed furious a little surprised he’d do something so bold in public where anyone might see them like this.
He breaks the kiss and looks into her eyes seriously. “Cagalli…I have no fucking clue what is going to happen, you know as well as I we’re fighting a tough and smart set of foes that won’t make ending this conflict easy. Whatever happens, whatever bright or bleak future awaits us I want you to know I’ll protect you no matter the cost.”
She blushes a bright pink from the sincere proclamation of protective devotion from the young teen. “Oh Kou,” she smiles and squeezes him in their hug. “Thank you.” She lets go of his waist and ruffles his hair playfully. “C’mon, we’re just about ready to take off so let’s go and get onboard.”
“You got it.” He nods before following her toward their ship.
Elsewhere in Space:
Pain was the first thing Ash Gray registered as his mind started to come out of the blank haze it had been in after the severe amount of drugs that had been pumped into his system. He felt numb, but also that the numbness was leaving him rapidly and he could fell the return of his motor functions fastening every second.
”Ah so you’re gaining consciousness Mr. Gray, I’m glad to see my Medical Nanites did the trick in purging all those harmful mind-bending drugs from your system.” A male voice spoke from close by in an amused sort of tone. “Just give them a few more seconds and you should feel fine and dandy as if you were never drugged up before.”
”Th’ hell?” Ash grimaces as his eyes finally adjust and a last spasm of head pain comes and goes, and sure enough he felt good as new as the voice promised. After shaking his head to get rid of the remaining haziness from his mind, Ash stared at the man he assumed had spoken to him. His outfit spoke of a scientist. “Who the hell are you?”
The scientist stereotypically pushed his glasses up onto his nose better. “You may call me Professor Steamhein. While I’m not the man who rescued you, you can thank me and my lovely assistant Dr. Chambers here for the medical nanomachines that purged your body of the drugs safely.”
Ash looked between the scientist and the woman next to him, who he guessed was Dr. Chambers. “Who’re you with? ZAFT, the Eurasia Federation, Blue Cosmos, some Merc group I pissed off?”
Steamhein flashed a smug grin. “None of the above I work for the Obsidian Abyss organization and the folks in charge wish to speak with you. I should inform you that they will be make you a generous offer I doubt you will refuse.”
Ash raised a curious and defiant eyebrow. “What makes you think I won’t refuse?”
It was Dr. Chambers who spoke up to answer him. “Aside from the fact we rescued you from imprisonment, purged your body of drugs no normal medical treatment could cure, the offer will put you back in a mobile suit’s cockpit. Allowing you to return at doing what you do best and will allow you revenge on the sly.”
Now THAT got Ash’s attention. “Really now? Well that does sound like a mighty generous offer.” He stands from his chair, noticing two guards near the door behind the scientists, and two behind himself. “Precautions I take it.?” It was more of a statement than a question.
”Your reputation precedes you Mr. Gray, one cannot be to careful, you are a capable killer.” Steamhein replies.
”Well, least I can say you folks aren’t dumb. Well Professor, lead the way.”
Meanwhile:
Rebecca Patterson stared at Captain Batsu Kibagami in surprise and excitement. “Professor Steamhein approved our request to install N-Jammer Cancellers in our GuAIZ firearm suits?” Her fellow pilots Hinata Madoka and Morres Jeffries had expressions mirroring her own.
Captain Kibagami nods. “His assistant Dr. Chambers sent a transmission once they got approval from the higher ups. The Predator will now head to Weapons R&D lab 676767 for the outfitting of our GuAIZ firearm types with NJC’s.”
“Wow that was the fastest approval to hook up our unit I’ve ever encountered.” Morres mused aloud.
“Well to top that, the message stated he promised he’d have all three suits equipped and combat ready in six freaking days.” Kibagami stated with a light tone of skepticism but yet he also knew better than to fully doubt the scientist who seemed to make anything possible if he deemed it need be done.
Hinata’s face lit up. “Six days? Amazing if he can pull that off we can return to combat duty to help out with the next big offensive operation.”
“Remind me to buy the man a beer when we arrive.” Morres chuckled.
”Hell I’ll help you buy him a brewery.” Rebecca added.
