When it was discovered that Amaterasu had a young male human being, those who knew jumped on it instantly. They demanded access to the boy, and wanted to have their own representatives there with him. Such an individual could not be ignored, and they wouldn't allow themselves to be cut off from him. Pokeboys were good enough as placeholders, but the fact of the matter was that, for their species to actually continue, they need male genetic contributions. And this single boy was the only one who could give it to them.
Ranma knew none of this, and was only aware of the fact that the adults were all involved in some sort of major 'to-do' about something. But since nothing was coming at him, he didn't really care about it. A lot of adult conversations tended to be rather odd, and he didn't understand how they could do a lot of the things that they did. But he was happy enough, and was being treated a lot better than he had when he'd been with his dad.
"Now, Ranma," the nice lady who was currently smiling at him said in a kind voice. "This is a big day."
"It is?"
"Yes, it is. You see, we're going to be having some friends come to see you."
"We are? Are they pokeboys?"
She put a hand on his shoulder. "Some of them. But there are others."
"What 'others'?"
"Girls, Ranma. We're going to bring girls your age to play with you."
"But, they're girls," he said, frowning in confusion. "They gonna wanna play with me?"
"They are. I'm sure of it."
"If ya say so...."
"I do," the woman told him, and patted him on the head.
The pigtailed boy wasn't so certain, and he wondered what would happen when he met the girls.
What he didn't know though was that they were this universe's younger versions of:
