“You really shouldn’t do that you know. You’ve already had to replace three phone’s this week Seto”
The multimillionaire ignored the comment. “I can’t believe that idiot driver,” Seto raged. Standing up with enough force to knock his chair to the ground, the elder Kaiba paced back and forth in his office while looking at the ground. “I gave him one simple job, get my brother to the school, follow him in, arrange for him to be set up in the same dorm, and keep a close eye on him for the rest of the school year.”
“Yeah, like that’s an unreasonable request.”
“Where did he even get enough good cards to make it into duelist academy anyway?” Seto demanded.
“Your deck.”
There was an eerie silence in the room for a while as that information reached Seto Kaiba’s ears. Finally, he spun around to face the person that had been speaking to him. “WHAT? What the hell do you mean by that?”
“Oh, so now you’re speaking to me again? Well I’m not too sure I should tell you what you want to know with the way I’ve been treaded lately. At least Yugi doesn’t pretend Mahad isn’t around.”
Seto glowered at the transparent form standing in front of him. She stood about chest high to him with long white hair that had a bit of a blue tint to it and wore clothes that could barely be considered rags. Of course he preferred it to her other form, the forty foot white dragon that also happened to appear on his favorite monster card as well as a good amount of his own merchandise. Kisara could be pretty loud in that form, and without the human vocal cords, getting her point across took some time.
Not for the first time, Seto cursed that damn Bakura for ever getting him mixed up in that Millennium World fiasco. When the whole thing was over, Seto Kaiba had found himself connected to the duel spirit of his blue eyes white dragon, who was also one five thousand year dead girl named Kisara. But thanks to the events surrounding the capture and containment of her inner self all those years ago, she was a bit different than the rest of the spirits that crept up from time to time. Kisara, like Mahad, had an entire personality formed by her experiences as a human, instead of the rather limited ones that normal duel spirits usually got.
That alone made her far more annoying than any of the others, the fact that she meant Seto’s favorite monster had also been a girl was just the icing on the cake. Yugi and his pals had a field day with that little fact. Joey’s ‘hiding behind your girlfriend’ comments, as well as the more perverted ones almost had Seto strangling the boy to death.
“Wait a minute,” Seto mumbled before looking back to the girl. “If he took the white dragon cards don’t you have to follow him or something?”
“Oh he didn’t take my cards, or any of the other white dragons, he just grabbed…
-Meanwhile at Duelist Academy-
“Okay let’s see here,” the dueling referee said as he looked over Mokuba’s cards for any illegal cards or fakes. “Ring of Destruction, Call of the Haunted, Monster Reborn, Flute of Summoning Dragon, Delta Attacker, Swords of Revealing Light, De-Fusion, Fusion Recovery, Axe of Despair, Barrel Behind the Door, Aqua Chorus, Mystical Space Typhoon, Shadow Spell, Negate Attack, Skull Lair, Trap Jammer, Magic Jammer, Polymerization, Wingbeat of Giant Dragon, three Archfiend Soldiers, three Luster Dragons, three Dark Blades, King of the Swamp, Great Maju Garzett, the XYZ monsters, Kiryu, Cyber Jar, Paladin of White Dragon with ritual card, Relinquished with ritual card, Thousand-Eyes Idol, Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands, Cyber Jar, Lord of Dragons, Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp, Obnoxious Celtic Guard, Tyrant Dragon, Thunder Dragon, Pitch-Dark Dragon, and Divine Dragon Ragnarock.
“Well, it all seems to be in order, and they all passed inspection,” the man said before handing the deck back to Mokuba. “Please head to line three and wait your turn.”
-Kaiba Corp-
“HE TOOK MY PALADIN?” Kaiba shouted. “But the whole point I have it in my deck is to summon-”
“Me?” Kisara finished.
Seto glared at the smiling girl before giving up on the attempt to make her go away and walked back to his desk. Well, it wasn’t like Mokuba had taken anything irreplaceable. Plus, considering the luck of the Kaiba family, and the reason that Duel Academy had been built, Seto supposed that it was best his brother had a deck with some actual muscle. “I don’t suppose you could go keep an eye on him for me?”
“Sorry, can’t wander too far from my cards,” Kisara replied with a smile.
The elder Kaiba smiled as a thought occurred to him. “So if I send what’s left of my deck to my penthouse in America…” Seto left the thought unfinished as he headed towards the elevator.
“America?” Kisara asked before putting two and two together and figuring out that America was probably a city or country far away. “Hey wait a minute! Seto, Seto come back here! SETOOOOOO!”
