The people involved had severed all contact with the outside world and shot arrows at anyone trying to approach when the scope of the disease became evident. It was futile though, as one of those that had approached got close enough and one of the Amazons had gone out to see if the individual shot was dead and had anything to loot before an Elder realized what was happening. With that single individual, the Plague came to the Nichieju.
Yet, passing through one village after another, several of those were getting the impression something else had happened as well.
Many of the buildings had obviously been empty for a considerable time. Weeds were showing in many areas, pushing up through paving stones on the pathways. Some of the wood had obviously rotted away.
The National Geographic crew (all males except for one Megumi-type neogirl) began filming when they entered, but stopped after about five minutes.
"That's three villages," said a cameraman whose favored equipment was a 35mm. "Each of them the same."
"This is heavy spooky," said another cameraman, this one using a camcorder.
"We should spend the night indoors," said the third. "It's getting late."
Ranma glanced at the two strays they'd picked up, who looked about ready to fall over from exhaustion. Not that Usagi was looking any better. It was odd how well they'd fit into his group -
