Akane gave her a single nod from her position sitting cross legged on the floor. "I did. Even if they were just his friends, I would have done that anyway, but now with the way that things are...."
"Oh, I wasn't saying that I didn't agree with the concept."
"Really?"
"Absolutely. This isn't the sort of information that you wait around with, sis. We need to be sure that we have everyone who needs to know to be told."
"But it will be nice to see them again," Kasumi murmured, sitting demurely on Nabiki's desk chair. "I do have to wonder if Belldandy has any new recipes. Not that I would only want to see her for that."
"Of course not, sis."
"Yeah. The two of you are so alike that it's impossible to /not/ see you as friends," Akane agreed.
"Pretty much what I think. Of course, you and Skuld get along together pretty well...."
"What about your... relationship with Urd? Huh?"
"My 'relationship'?"
"You two never let it rest."
"Humph. She just has no restraint in her manipulations. One day, she'll realize that my way is better than just running around and jumping on plans that leave things too much to luck!"
Her sisters sighed, and hung their heads in exasperation.
"What?"
"Nothing important. We do have to deal with the fact that Ranma's being brought here to marry one of us," the youngest of the sisters reminded them.
"That's true. We do have one thing for certain. We have to get him back to her. Now, Keiichi does have his motorcycle...."
"But that would mean that we would have to ask him to go out of his way," Kasumi commented.
"True, but the other choice is to have us bring him to them."
"Which wouldn't be bad at all. We could visit in addition to bringing him back."
"Which would also get us out of any line of fire."
"Oh?"
The middle Tendo daughter gave a wry grin. "We're planning on delivering the boy that Dad's chosen to marry one of us to another girl so that he could be her husband. If this doesn't go right, he may be very mad at us."
"Oh my.... I hadn't thought of that."
"But we'll just have to make sure that things go the best that they can, right?" Akane asked.
"It might not be that easy," Nabiki informed her. "We /will/ try, but it's a question of being able to deal with the situation as it comes. Basically, the best that we can probably hope for is a delaying tactic."
"What do you mean?"
"Something along the lines of getting Dad to be comfortable with letting us push any choice making back...."
"We could just tell him that we all like him."
"How would that help us?"
Shrugging, Akane looked up at her short haired sister. "We just make it clear that we're getting along with him, and that there wouldn't be one of us to clearly pick."
"That could actually work...."
"You don't have to sound so amazed that I came up with it."
"Oh, that's part of it, but not all. The rest is that I can see this working. Our main issue with it would be that we'd have to be careful. If it seems that we like him too much, then they'd think they'd be better off striking while the iron is hot. On the other hand, if we do too little, they might see it as being a problem, rather than a help. And either extreme could be seen as being faked."
"Even if we actually like him? As a friend?"
"Yup. Remember, part of it would be that we'd have to be showing them romantic interest in him, despite the fact that we wouldn't want to even try for an affair with him."
"Ah, didn't think of that. But if they want us all to be with him, then how could we get us and him out of the house?"
"That's actually quite simple. If we just tell them that we're taking him out to spend some time with him, and to let Father and his friend reminisce, I'm sure that they'd be willing to let us go," Kasumi suggested.
The two younger girls simply stared at her, and Nabiki was the only one able to ask what they both wanted to know. "How'd you come up with something like that, sis?"
"Mother used to do it all the time when Father had his friends over, and she wanted to give him time alone with them. She'd get together with some of her friends, and they would go out to do something while the men got to relax."
"Good idea. She was smart, wasn't she?"
"Yes, she was."
"Ah... Well... We do have only one problem to keep track of though."
"What would that be?"
"Well, it is that:
