Her husband was already in her... their room, waiting so that the two of them could go to sleep.
This was the night when she would be sharing a bedroom with her husband. It would be the first time that they would have a place to call their own, and even if it wouldn't exactly be the most fabulous setting, it was a major thing for a girl like her. After years of imagining what it would be like to share a bed with her love, it was actually going to happen. So many possibilities of what could happen ran through her mind that she didn't know what she wanted to happen. From fantasies of romantic kisses, to images of him taking her on a wild ride, she just kept on coming up with new ideas of what it might be like.
Seeing her father-in-law leaving her room hadn't come up though, and it was what she was seeing at the moment. Putting her hands on her hips, she glared at the large man. "What do you think that you are doing?"
"Going to bed?" Genma easily replied.
"I would have thought so, but you just came from my room, when there isn't something that you need for getting ready for bed in there."
"But I did have something to do."
"And that would be...."
Her father-in-law gave her a self satisfied smile. "I was simply giving my son some words of advice. You know, from father to son."
"You were?"
"Yes, and I do have something to say to you."
"Really? What?"
"Enjoy yourself. I know that you will be a dutiful daughter-in-law, and do what you are responsible for."
It took Akane a few moments to realize what he was saying, but by the time that happened, he was already striding to his own room. That left her with no other option than to send a black look his way as he slipped into the room as if he was a sea captain with the wind at his back.
Snorting in disgust at the thoroughly idiotic man who had sired her husband, she turned and headed for her room. She forced herself to push aside her anger though, as she didn't want to be bothered with such stupidity. If she let herself get too aggravated, it'd ruin what would hopefully be a wonderful night, and she didn't want that. Her only option was to calm herself, and she took a couple of deep breaths before she opened the door.
When she went in, she discovered something that did annoy her going on in the room, but she kept her voice and emotions flat as she turned to her husband. "What do you think you're doing?"
"I was settin' up for bed," Ranma told her, stopped in the middle of unrolling his futon. "I figured that I would set it up ta make it easier for when we went ta sleep."
"You call this 'easier'?"
"Yeah. Why not?" her husband asked.
"Do you really think that I can sleep with things being this idiotic?"
"What's wrong with havin' things this way?"
"We're married, Ranma, and that doesn't mean that we sleep apart when we aren't having problems between us," she told him, and took the futon from him so that she could re-roll it, and put it aside. "There. It's not needed right now, so it can stay there."
"But...."
"What?"
"Akane, ya gotta realize that we'll be.... If I'm on that bed sleepin', it'll be right next to ya."
"So? Don't you think that I've been considering that ever since I realized that I'd be sharing this room with you?"
Ranma blinked at her. "Not really. But this is kind of different. I mean, ya got pajamas, and me? I sleep in my boxers and undershirt."
"That's a good point."
"It is?" he said, obviously thrown off track by her tone.
"Yeah. We'll have to get you pajamas of your own."
"Akane, ya've got ta be serious!"
"I am serious. I'm your wife, and that's it. I know that we're going to share a bed, and I have no problem with it," she informed him primly.
"But your dad does have one, and mine wants me ta... ta...."
"He does?"
"Uh-huh," the pigtailed boy answered, understanding that she knew what he couldn't say.
"Then he and I'll have some words. But do you know what?"
"What?"
"I wouldn't mind if we.... You know. I'm sure that I'd even like it. You would too, right?"
"Ya know how I feel about ya...."
Taking pity on her blushing and uncertain husband, Akane put the fingers of one hand to his cheek and smiled. "Then why not ignore them and just go with what we feel?"
"'Cause I'd be feelin' all odd 'bout doin'... that sorta stuff when they'd be pushin' how they'd want it'd ta be, ya know?"
"Oohh...."
"Now d'ya understand."
"I understand, but we shouldn't be letting them change what's going on for us," she told him, and pulled him lay down onto the bed.
"That ain't somethin' that'll ever happen."
"I'm glad. But remember, I'm your wife, okay? I chose you, and I'll always need you."
"Ya know that the same goes for me."
"I know. And I need you now. Just hold me, if you're too creeped out by our fathers to do anything else," she said, tugging the covers over them, and snuggling into his chest. "Please?"
Looking down into his wife's eyes, Ranma felt his resistance flow away, and knew that he couldn't do anything other than what they both wanted. Wrapping his arms around her, he not only held her, but kept her protected in his embrace, showing in that single action that it was more a need to defend her from trouble than it was the bad vibes from the fathers that directed his actions.
Yet, even with both his nervousness and his desire to keep her secure made it hard for him to ignore that she was certainly bearing a nice set of curves. She wasn't a busty girl, but her athletic form was a quite nice fit against his body, and he naturally responded to that contact.
Feeling the result of that actually made her feel more comfortable, but they just held each other as they lay there with their heads sharing a pillow. They were face to face, resting there in a quiet solitude that was theirs alone, and they were really enjoying it that way. Any resistance to sharing the bed was gone, and the stress left their bodies, while:
