Scroll Saga: Aiko of the Ice Fist [Episode 160913]

by Master Roy

Ranma shivered, her teeth chattering as she felt the chilling effects of the woman's powerful aura. She looked around for a few moments and stopped when her line of sight came across the group in AA9.

"Hey you!" the woman, confused, looked up at Ranma. "Who are you?" When the girl did a double take, she took it as her being surprised that she could resist her telepathy. Ranma dropped down to the ground to join the woman. "I'll ask you again; who are you? What are you doing?"

"This doesn't concern you, boy," She said with a frown. "Run along now, and I might decide to let you live," She smirked. Ranma wondered why she was able to see this woman; the room was pitch black. Or how the woman could see her, for that matter.

"Wrong answer, lady," She said. "I'll give you another chance. Either stop what you're doing, or I'll stop you myself," She said with a determined look.

"You think to harm me? I am Aiko of the Seven sisters, and tonight, you will know true pain, mortal."

"Yeah yeah, I heard it all before..."

The swirling smoke suddenly blasted around Aiko, surrounding her like a whirlwind of some kind. There was a flash of energy, and Ranma held up her arms to protect herself. Aiko stood there, with her arms crossed as everything in the tent... was frozen solid.

"How pathetic. Not even worth my time," She snorted, turning back to AA9 when she felt an enormous power behind her. Before she could turn back to face Ranma, his fist flew towards her head and slammed into her, sending her flying forward into the stands. She impacted a wall, leaving a small crater and spider cracks.

Ranma looked around and looked at his hands. He was glowing a bright blue, the same color of his own confidence Chi. There was a puddle of hot water at his feet. "Ya know, normally I don't hit girls, but you don't appear ta be human, so I'm assuming you don't fit into the girl category." He said coldly.

The woman took no longer than a second to peel from the wall and turn around. There was no visible pain in her face. "So you show your true form," said the woman. "And you are quite right; I'm no girl. I'm 100% woman." She rocketed towards him at a speed that would have left Ranma dizzy. She didn't need to swing a fist or throw a kick; merely crashing into Ranma did enough damage to knock him senseless.

Aiko didn't take any chances after that; She moved in again at her incredible speed and began a vicious assault that Ranma could barely block. His momentum from her initial attack finally ceased and he was able to put his feet on the ground. Aiko circled around him and came in with a vertical punch that connected with his spine, sending him sprawling forward. Ranma used his momentum to roll forward and jump up into the air, turning and then summoning a Chi blast. He threw a Mouko Takabisha at her, not even calling out the name of his attack. "What the hell are you doing here, anyway?" He asked this time, in sincere curiosity. "It can't be worth getting beat up by some weak mortal kid," He said. Aiko merely swatted his Chi blast to the side and to his horror, to a section of the Audience. "Wasn't she looking at that area before?" He realized something as he threw another Chi blast at his original one, and they exploded on impact.

Unfortunately, this was all the distraction Aiko needed to renew her relentless assault on him. He felt her fist collide with his gut and then an uppercut slammed into his chin and some sort of spinning kick that slammed into his ribs, sending him flying back.

Ranma quickly realized that if he wanted to be free of distractions, he needed to get her to leave. Rather than taunting her into following him outside, he made a wise choice to be subtle. Ranma flew into the air before he realized she wasn't following him. The girl stood on the ground staring up at him. There was a huge sweatdrop at her back when he realized something.

"Uh, you, can't fly?"

"I can, but I was unaware of the fact that humans had the ability as well," She said honestly. Oh well, they both thought. You learn something new everyday.

She launched into the air, and unlike Ranma, her Aura was huge, like that of a comet. Ranma grimaced as he realized the gravity of his situation. The two traded blows for a minute or so, looking for an opening in the other. Ranma finally found one - He knife handed her right under her ribs, sticking his fingers as far deep into the crevice as possible.

Aiko clutched her gut as her eyes boggled. She honestly was not expecting the boy to land a hit. Ranma followed up by flying at her from above and using one hand to slam her into the ground. He bounced off of her and whistled at the large crater her impact had made. The woman sat up, seemingly unaffected. She snickered at the shocked look on Ranma's face and wiped the dirt off of her face. She stood up and nodded at Ranma

"You won't hit me again," She said. And she said it like a statement. It was as if she locked the outcome of the battle and there was no chance for Ranma to win. Ranma frowned as he floated in the air a good twenty or thirty feet above her. She suddenly appeared in front of Ranma; And he could tell that it was no technique, but sheer speed that enabled her to do it.

The speed was such that she didn't need to appear behind him; though she didn't surprise him, there was no way for him to block the repeated blows to his face, chest, and gut. Ranma fell to the ground, coughing up his own blood on the way down. His vision blurred and he realized he was on the borderline of consciousness. "Ouch," He said aloud, to which the woman snickered.

"More than ouch, human. I'm surprised you're still alive after that," She said. There was an honest amount of respect in her voice. That was when the light came back to the tent. Aiko screamed and clutched her face. "What the HELL? Why did they stop?!" She slowly disappeared in a swirl of purple fog. "You'd better survive until next we meet, human! I'll be looking forward to our battle!" She finally vanished and with her, so did the artificial ice in the tent. People looked around in confusion and Nabiki, who was on the ground, looked at Ranma.

He was bloodied and bruised, looking quite defeated. There were several craters in the ground, and other evidence that there had been a fight. "Ranma fought off whatever that thing was," She said, having had only a glimpse of the blue woman rising from the ground.

Ranma himself was finally admitting something that he hadn't been able to in a long time.

He had lost a fight.
